  1. Which part? Switching to red at home? I'm not crazy about that either, but whatever. I think axing the red outline on the NOB was a good move. I like white at home and colored jersey's on the road. It's a stupid traditionalist thing. The reason for doing such a thing (giving a chance for fans to see different colored jersey's at home to sell tickets) is dated as hell, I just don't like change in sports for whatever reason. I get weird about seeing alternate jersey's in the playoffs because I don't know why. None of this is actually logical.
  2. This jersey thing is a stupid thing to care about but I hate it
  3. This feels like one of those 1998 games against the Brewers which means we are for sure winning on a walk off (are those games from 98 memorable enough for it to be a reference point or is it just me being a baseball weirdo?)
  4. Jakes kinda getting hit hard but they're for outs and that's two quick innings which I enjoy over him walking everyone.
  5. I think the Cubs playing like ass during the first half then turning into the Super Cubs is more enjoyable than if they'd just been Super Cubs all season. Makes me appreciate regular season baseball again before the terror or playoff baseball takes over.
  6. If Montgomery comes in and pitches the rest of the game would he get the save and the win?
  7. Lester may not get the win in a game where he's allowed 1 run and we've scored 8.
  8. We're sweeping the Dodgers and giffing the crap out a new post-dong Kershaw reaction.
  9. I don't understand how you can watch baseball for most of your life and make claims like people have made about the Dodgers. This is a sport where bad teams win series against good teams constantly so to claim that a good team won't win a series against another good team is absurd. This is a sport where a mediocre Cardinals team won the World Series in 06, or a juggernaut Cubs team still needed extras in a game 7 to win a title a year ago. You don't have to really understand baseball is a playoff crapshoot to know that the Dodgers are no where near guaranteed to win it all. You just have to watch baseball and see how the sport works and how it has worked forever.
  10. I have honestly not heard anyone blame Bartman but it's not like I talk about it that frequently.
  11. it definitely is, but his life was impacted in such a negative way...at least he gets something awesome out of it in the end. Yeah; it's the weird resolution (hopefully) to a weird situation that the poor guy got WAY too much horsefeathers over. Still plenty of meatballs that look at him as some kind of villain or figure of scorn, and since he very understandably doesn't want to be a part of something like throwing out a first pitch, this seems like a good way to publicly give a little something back to a guy who didn't deserve any of the awfulness he's gone through. I'm not sure I know anyone who blames him. I feel the meatballs don't blame him. It only seems like his named lived on because of Fox and ESPN.
  12. Got a tough little stretch of games the next couple weeks or so (even though the Giants suck, weird stuff happens out west) so hopefully we can maintain good baseball playing.
  13. I'd be perfectly fine with a 3-3 homestand We're going 6-0 though.
  14. For a somewhat important series filled with close games I've been kinda bored this weekend. Seems like every hard hit ball has been an out.
  15. This game is dumb as horsefeathers. At least it's only gonna last 2 hours
