1) Tender a qualifying offer 2) If he takes it, sweet. If not, then shake his hand; thank him for the good work; collect pick. I don't really want Theo to cut his delicate fingers on Wade's 2017 World Series ring.
I hope Iowa is having another one of those seasons where they're randomly 9-0 or something even though they aren't really that good and I spend all my time getting mad at the media for talking about them not being really good.
I watched a replay of the ejection and it was the Cards broadcast. After Lackey and Contreras got ejected Tim McCarver said something like "the battery was ejected, try running a car without a battery" The car ran just fine. Weirdo.
Agreed. But then it rubbed off on Willy in this case, and that loss in a tight game is especially bad. That, and the "melting down" look isn't a great look ever. If there's anytime for melting down though it's probably after that pitch.
I have no memory of hitting him well. 2015: 5 G, 5.24 ERA against the Cubs 2016: 5 G, 4.80 ERA 2017: 3 G, 2.25 ERA So uhh....he's gotten better I guess. I must only watch the ones where he dominates us.
I never thought the 2017 Cubs would end up being like the 04' or '09 Cubs "Good teams that I can't seem to get excited about at all category" but I just can't shake that with this team. Hope we can squeeze in and pull out a "playoffs are a crapshoot where the best team doesn't always win" run
Imagine winning the division by 8 games. We've gone on a losing stretch and Cards have gone on a winning stretch and we're still up 4. Last time this happened they tied the division and then dropped all the way to 7 back. Our losing stretch involved an injury to a starter than things going haywire and a reliever blowing a late 1 run lead. I don't really see the need to sound the alarms.
