  1. The last two games the Cubs have made pitchers work and have ran up pitch counts. It's time to keep doing that and for that to pay off.
  2. Cubs and Bulls pull some nice choke jobs. Your turn Hawks.
  3. What's stupid is if they beat Toronto they can still make the playoffs. The Eastern Conference is stupid.
  4. The Cubs bullpen must be playing for the Bulls.
  5. So help me God if they do that in the playoffs.
  6. Ummm....this is getting a little too close.
  7. So the Blues are pretty much cheap shotting a-holes (not that Karia's play was really a cheap shot but it just reminded me).
  8. I don't understand why some are getting that upset (well, I do) but we lost two games to a team who very well could be one of the better ones in the league. After this series we have a fairly favorable schedule for the rest of April.
  9. I would enjoy it if Vancouver and Detroit play in the first round. All along those have been the two teams that I fear the most and that would guarantee that one gets knocked off.
  10. It sucks to lose but there are worse things then losing two games to a good team in their park. Hopefully we win tomorrow but even that isn't the end of the world.
  11. Hope this is how they go into the playoffs.
  12. I like it. It gives a positive modern feel to the park.
  13. That's pretty much the best play I've ever seen.
  14. It seems like the Cubs Cards play on Fox on Saturday or ESPN on Sunday quite a bit. I'm guessing if those two teams are playing on national television then people throughout the nation recognize it as a rivalry.
  15. Is that the biggest "almost" since the Titans/Rams Super Bowl? Bigger. That "only" would've sent the game into OT (assuming the Titans went for the PAT). I'm thinking...there's never been a moment like that in the history of American sports. Chalmers making the 3 against Memphis was just as do or die but it was only to tie the game and it wasn't a half court buzzer beater. The Ice Bowl comes to mind. Yeah but that was a QB sneak. If you combine the Flutie Hail Mary with the stakes of the Ice Bowl then you'd have something equivalent to that shot if it had went in (ignoring that football is much more popular than college hoops). True. There isn't much that would have topped that if it had gone in.

And Joe Carter's home run was only Game 6 and Mazeroski's, though it was a Game 7, was in a tie game not with the Pirates down. The N.C. State layup in 1983 came in a tie game as well. Jordan's shot against Utah, although it was game 6.

  19. How many times do Butler fans replay that missed shot in their minds? That would give me nightmares.
  20. I think Butler's done.
  21. I'd say 99%, with the other 1% being Duke fans. Outside of gambling and one's bracket, I don't see how a non-Duke fan could root for Duke in that game
  22. The Butler locker room right now is why sports are awesome.
  23. The more I think about it the more I welcome a 96 team tournament. I still kind of want to see a 300+ team super tournament featuring all division 1 teams though.
  24. As a Packer fan I want to beat the Bears and consider them a rival but when the Packers lose to the Vikings I can barely function the next day. And that was before Favre. This year losing to them twice felt almost as bad as the playoffs loss.
  25. Sounds like a great night for the power to have gone out.
