    Message sending for the next game, it's happened since the beginning of the sport. Very similar to how baseball used to be... you take care of it on the field... you hit my guy I'm going to make sure to hit your guy(s)... there were no warnings or ejections for that crap. Let the players police the game themselves. Scripted fights like those off the faceoffs are incredibly stupid and are usually personal quarrels/trying to get some energy in your team. You don't have fighting and self policing the skilled players are going to get dirty runs made at them with little to no physical punishment... taking a skilled player out of the game would be much easier.

    You don't know anything about hockey then. So I know nothing about hockey because I think that fights are stupid? No, i'm just not a meathead fan. You don't know the importance of fighting... most hockey fans will agree the fights off the face off are stupid... but fighting is an integral part of the sport. One of the last sports that the players can police the game themselves.

    Just put firm pressure on both of your carotid arteries at once and count to 15... if you make it that far. (Please no one actually do this as it could cause you to stroke out... however if you are going to choke yourself... that's the better way to go.)

    yeah he elbowed the guy on the icing and then high sticked him in the face. Wasn't elbowing... didn't see the high stick. How was that not elbowing? He came in and purposefully nailed the guy in the head with his elbow. Is that not really a penalty? He got him in the chest/shoulder with the elbow, therefore it's not elbowing... the nasty crosscheck to the face should get him suspended, though. Go to 1:15 of the video.

    The Wings have not had a highly ranked farm system for 15 years and yet is still produces about as good as anyone elses. Lidstrom is certainly an all time great, but he already taken a step down from where he was several years ago. Even If Lidstrom retires the Wings still have Rafalski, Ericson, Stuart, Kronwall, Lilja, Meech, Kindl and Lebda. Plus it frees up their biggest contract, so signing a player like Bouwmeester would be very reasonable. He is a step down from Lidstrom but Ericsson and Kronwall will still be improving. I think the Hawks still have plenty of places to improve and may pass the Wings, but I dont think the Wings are going to drop down too much in the near future There's one thing the Hawks have that the Wings cannot match nor have an answer for - Scotty Bowman - I believe that's going to translate to them making the best and correct decisions when to comes to future contracts, etc. Basically, the Hawks are young and talented along with a management that's not going to eff it up. They had him for long enough.
