  1. Thanks for the highlights! This is definitely going to kill my hour break here in the computer lab :)
  2. Hope this puts him on the 15 day DL and he doesn't pitch til a week before the playoffs.
  3. Says "Groin injury"
  4. Please let it be so... would be nice to miss his arm in the NLCS!
  5. People act like this was a Buckner ball. This was a slow roller that the pitcher couldn't pick up due to the spin on the ball. These things are called hits all the time. Changing the ruling or calling it an error to begin with because of some unwritten rule about only calling things hits on no doubters is dumb. Want the no hitter? Make the play. Just like everyone who complains about umpiring, don't leave it up to them. You want the accomplishment, overcome. This especially points out how dumb the ruling is, that it WAS THE FREAKIN PITCHER that "made the error" they're trying to charge here. I understand they are charging the pitcher for the error, but it doesn't matter who makes the error (even though I don't agree with it) it still shouldn't be a hit. *IF* Sabathia comes up cleanly with the ball the runner is out... he did NOT come up cleanly with it which should be an error and not a hit.
  6. I'm pumped about Hoffpauir. Gooz too - but mainly Hoffpauir. I think both could make the playoff roster with a good September. You really think Guz has a chance to make the playoff roster? I think Hoff will (replacing Ward) but I think Guz is a stretch.
  7. So, are we likely to see a forfeit lineup tonight against the Astros? Or will the AAA guys likely not play tonight?
  8. Don't really know why people don't think that call should be protested? He threw a no hitter and got it taken away from him because of a bad call. It sucks he couldn't celebrate it like every other no hitter that has been thrown, but he still deserves it.
  9. If I was Soto, I'd use roids because I wanted to be ultra sexy.
  10. Wasn't worried anyways.
  11. With the Cubs basically a shoe in for the playoffs, they are resting most of the starting pitchers who have "dead arm" from pitching a full or close to full season. That is why Z was skipped today. Most likely we'll see Shark or some minor leaguers get some spot starts come tomorrow. Nothing to worry about.
  12. Might wanna change the last game for the Brewers... says "vs CIN"
  13. I would find this to be incredibly pleasing, if it happens.
  14. Bowden likely done at 89 pitches. 5 IP 7 H 2 BB 3 K 2 ER In line for the win!
  15. That's not something you tell someone making their debut :)
  16. I hate to agree with you, but love your ideas.
  17. I posted this in the "Minor Leagues" board but I'm sure a lot of you don't check that forum.... sooo: Fenway will be the debut of Waubonsie Valley High School (Aurora, IL) fireballer MICHAEL BOWDEN tomorrow against the White Sox. I had the privilege of playing with Mike for two years, and I HOPE HE KILLS THE WHITE SOX! Spoke with him briefly this evening and he is so stoked, and nervous... told him like highschool, he has 7 players behind him ready to make a play to make his debut a success. Told him just to throw strikes and that Red Sox defense is a bit better than WVHS defense.... I can't wait... I hope you all tune in! GO RED SOX GO BOWDEN EDIT: Game is 6:05 PM on WGN... watch it!

  19. I Hit a HR against him in softball =P He's such a levelheaded dude... He's definitely the good guy to root for... please tune in!
