Certainly not a good one either. Playing against a good team who has already had 2 real games? Against a top 5 goalie in the league? Def. not bad. If it was any goalie other than Lundqvist the Hawks score 5+... they are quick and talented and just have to mold together. I don't think this Toews and Kane separation is going to last too much longer. This game was a good start... if you really expected them to beat the Rangers under the circumstances, you know ZERO about hockey. Seriously? Calm down. All I meant was that it really wasn't a good game. We did a good job of getting even in the 1st, but we had an awful second period. Then we gave up a goal right after we got it back to within one. Way too many defensive breakdowns for my liking tonight. I'm sorry, but I'm going to refuse to call it a 'good game' even though the Rangers are a solid team. Sorry if I came across as a dick, I wasn't intending to at all, but I just read it this morning with my headache and all. I do apologize for that. You're right, defense was bad and Huet shouldn't have let in 4... but it was their first game. I have a tendency to only look at the positives, expecting the negatives to get better over time. The Hawks offense was awesome, they had so many open looks against a pretty good NYR defense. Oh well, go get the Caps tonight!

Hawks lose, 4-2. Not a bad first game.

He's taken quite a few shots, his defense hasn't been too great.

Zherdev scores (1), assisted by Dubisnky (2), Voros (2). Rangers lead 4-2.

Duncan Keith scores (1), assisted by Byfuglien (1), Sharp (1). Rangers lead: 3-2

END OF 2nd PERIOD Rangers 3 Hawks 1 Hawks still getting a lot of open looks, should score once or twice in the 3rd period. We just need to hold the Rangers off.

Dubinsky scores (2), assisted by none. Skille vs. Mara fighting... 5 mins each. Rangers lead 3-1.

Voros scores (1), assisted by Dubinsky (1), Zherdev (1) Rangers lead: 2-1

First period analysis: The Hawks should really have 3 or 4 goals right now with the opportunities they've had. They are skating so fast and getting amazing looks, things just aren't falling their way. The Hawks are completely outplaying the Rangers, regardless of the score. The goal by Kane was amazing... Brian Campbell realized he had nowhere to go so intentionally shot it off the post back to Kane who put it in the net on the 'rebound'. Only 2 penalties so far (1 for Hawks, 1 for Rangers, 1 Fight) and the game has been clean. The Hawks look dominant.

Wow! 1-1 at the end of the 1st! Kane (1), assisted by Campbell (1). What an amazing goal. Also... Fraser got into an early fight.

Puck drop in 2 minutes, give Pat Foley a chance... his voice grows on you ;)

Go for it, the 'reigning champs' got destroyed by the worst team in the league tonight 3-2.

Not a chance with Havlat 'healthy'.

The Hawks are going to be incredible this year. Kane/Toews are going to be SUPERSTARS and they are now no longer rookies. We got a better goalie than Khabi, and improved our PP unit 10 fold. I definitely suggest buying into the Hawks this year, this is the first time I can say this in a decade.
