I was just made aware that there is another Japan series this season, that will be the "official" start to the MLB regular season. I am not going to change any of our deadlines, and since it is just two games, it won't have that much of an impact on our game here. -

To clarify - you don't have to pick players from my grouping of players for Bench players. You can pick anyone who isn't in the salary tiers. -

Hello everyone, and welcome to the kick off thread for the 2019 HR Derby at Northside Baseball! Okay - I am 90% done with everything. Just need to re-write the Rules for the upcoming season and then code it all for the Wiki site. Should be by week's end at the latest, but I'm shooting for sooner.

I thought by starting in October, I would have this figured out by now. I have all the groupings updated (including players on new teams), but I'm still working out the logistics for new rules, team construction, etc. With tomorrow being March 1, my hope is to have this wrapped up by the end of this weekend. I will keep everyone posted.

Profar was traded ... not to the Cubs... I'm having so much fun watching all the players that were "rumored" to either be traded here, or sign here... go elsewhere. It's just what I wanted for my MLB Christmas.

Bleacher Report released their "Top 25 Free Agent Predictions" prior to the Winter Meetings beginning. They only have the Cubs signing Zach Britton for 3/$33M.

I don't know why, but I'm really disappointed the Cubs didn't go after Diaz. I know we don't have prospects to trade, but this is why guys off the main roster could have been packaged with some mid-level prospects to get a quality closer like Diaz.

It's just been reported that Seattle is prime for a sell-off this offseason, but they have to be wowed with their returns. I'm not sure we have the pieces, but I think they should be interested in Edwin Diaz.

Okay - I've mapped some stuff out and here's the problem with teams by position instead of tiers. Unless you want to have a team different than everyone else, you wind up with a team full of "A" players. Not saying that they'd all stay to form from 2018, but you never know. Thoughts?

I don't know if this has been mentioned, because I don't care to look through the thread. HOWEVER ... should Milwaukee win the World Series, the last four WS Winners would be: Royals, Cubs, Astros, and Brewers. Let that sink in.
