  1. Is it supposed to rain all day in chicago tell me know I can't stand to not have a game after yesterdays loss.
  2. From this point out win 2 of every 3 and we got it! haha I think If I did my math right this time. 30-15 We now need to finish. Is it possible? yes. will it happen? Not likely. I'd be happy if we could manage to go 25-20 even.
  3. We never fare well against guys that we've never faced. I'm not sure if anyone on the team has faced him b/c i was too lazy to look at the first page. So look for a low scoring game if we want to stay in it or a blowout in favor of the rockies.
  4. What we need to do is win today in rout to a 13-5 record to finish the month of August. Anything less than that will be disappointing to me.
  5. 18??? He's only hit 12 so far. He'd have to hit 18 homers in a third of a season, which might be within reach for Prince Fielder or Ryan Howard, but Derrek Lee has never been a tremendously prolific power hitter. Even getting to the mid 20s would be a major accomplishment. Well maybe he'd go into a power slugging fest. The man isn't a prolific power hitter but I think he has the ability to hit 18 home runs in a third of a season. Some of his home runs are absolute shots it's all about getting into a groove and having a good stroke at the plate. Ok, really though i'd be happy if he managed maybe even 12 more. When I watch the games It seems that he has trouble hitting the outside pitches over the fence then when they come inside on him he seems more than surprised and more often than not he rolls it over into a ground ball. but Truffle Shuffle 18... we can all dream can't we? haha
  6. that's true he has been hitting for doubles all year long my mistake. Maybe the slump has just got me thinking he hasn't hit for doubles. He does already have as many homers in the 2nd half as he had in the first half 6 in the first 6 in the 2nd if im not mistaken? Hopefully he can knocked about 18 more out if he gets out of this slump. 30 Total would be pretty good to finish with after only 6 in the first half.
  7. haha dangit it was late/early and I dont know what i was thinking and now 31-17 makes me feel a lot better seeing that I did the math wrong haha. I think i just used the losing record and was like oh 90 35 more losses good thing you all corrected me. Because I hope we don't finish with 90 losses on the losing side! Go Cubs 31-17 HAHA
  8. One question I have is the wrist injury from last year affecting his power first of all? Also, could that be why he is so uncomfortable still maybe his wrist just hasn't felt the same since the injury? I dk but i would love to see D Lee start hitting the ball for doubles and power again I miss it.
  9. 35-13 is what we have to go now.
  10. I don't have much confidence in this team but I still BELIEVE in this team. I think that all they need is a spark again to get them going no matter who is playing. I think we could break out of a slump just as quickly as we broke into it if we just get a few guys stepping up in the clutch. But then again as it seems to everyone here we're the cubs when we lose we lose a lot. You all seem to forget that we we're once playing great baseball. Yes, yes I know we aram and sorianoless but you never know what can happen. Just keep the faith!
  11. I think he gets to 777 and stops playing just to finish on a cool number.
  12. It's just ridiculous how often we are hit by the injury bug. sure angers me.
  13. You know this team is playing terrible the last few days. Everyone slumps I know we're out Soriano and now Ramirez but look at some other good/decent teams. The dodgers just got shut out in 3 straight games. At least we managed to put a couple runs up on the board. The dodgers have lost 6 in a row and 9 of their last 10. I know these are two completely different teams but everyone slumps at some point or another. I think everyone got so used to winning more than losing and now that it's happening everyone is blowing up because of course we're the Cubs. So there is 1,000,000 pessimists per 1 optimist.
  14. thank god for the rockies oh wait we play them next...
  15. theres the murton we know and love javascript:emoticon(':D') Very Happy
  16. Good fight pagan atleats u got 9 pitches out of him check that make it 10
  17. Thanks Jeff i should've known we could never get a guy in if he's on 3rd 0 outs lately.
  18. pagan will single, murton 2 run shot theriot single then cubs 3 straight outs to lose by 1 any takers?
  19. JWCUB haha hendry try? good one. He thinks star athletes are just to fall into his lap.
  20. Rockies please come back and save the sorry cub's again because we can't seem to win a game to save our lives let alone score 3 runs.
  21. Preseason football is boring you get to see the starters for a half or less I just can't watch it because the games mean nothing. But At least husker football starts soon.
  22. Exactly how i feel you can see a difference in the players and when you are losing to the astros after sweeping them in the previoius two series.... yea I just don't know what to think about these cubs anymore. It'd pry be for the best if I didn't pay attention til they pulled their heads outta their ass's but I don't think i could stay away from the cubs withdrawals would get to me.
  23. way to fight back down 3-0 wood no more runs please atleast give us a shot.
