Every reliever should be available tomorrow anyway. Howry will be the only one who pitched 2 consecutive days. I'd rather not kill Marmols arm though. Last year he pitched in 59 games and 69.1 innings. This year he has already pitched in 48 games and 51.1 innings. I understand. Remember though that Marmol also had 41 innings starting for Iowa last year. Those 69.1 innings with the Cubs were only from the beginning of June on. Oh that I did not realize that.

Well I guess Lou figures Dempster is going to go complete game shutout tomorrow and won't have to use any relievers tomorrow.

Do you remember how he pitched at the end of last year? 11 innings pitched and only 1 run allowed so I think he earned his playoff roster spot. Not sure why he can't get it together this year. Looked fine in his first inning but maybe Lou should take note if he goes 1,2,3 get him out because thats all your getting out of him.

A bunt to get the runner to 2nd? I realize Randy Winn is probably about their only clutch hitter but what does 1 run do for you except get you in grand slam range?

Well Howry in, hopefully he gets a DP ball and goes the 9th so we don't have to use Wood or Marmol.

Woo Hoo just got back from my triple header softball games to see this. Although a short outing for Harden a very good outing at that. 10 k's in 5.1 almost 2 per inning amazing. But if we can do that and we can get the bullpen to come through in all his games and save his arm and not run up too many innings on him that would be awesome. GO CUBS!

Imagine if we were in the NL West...we'd have a 10 game lead. Hey Cubs remember when the Cardinals won the division by like a billion games in 2004? Let's show them what that feels like! Wow I did not remember them winning 105 games and getting swept in the WS. That is nuts, and they didn't win the WS, then in 05 they won 100 games and didn't win the WS, then in 06 they won 83 games and won the WS...... :roll:

Well on Monday the Cubs got a Harden and they have been trying to relieve it since then, hopefully they get it done tomorrow and don't have to end with Wood. :hello:

How can anyone not like Manny? haha manny is hilarious he isn't even on the Cubs and I love some of the things he does. Jumping up into the stands giving a high 5 and still doubling off the runner earlier in the year, that is great, it certainly isn't baseball but it makes it damn funny. -
The Brewers must run into Volquez as we missed him, so thats promising. Agreed and he is going against seth Mcclung, so he should Key word Should beat him. That should give at least one win. And if C.C. is wild again like he was against the Rockies look for a few power hitters on the Reds to hopefully capitalize and not choke like jayson nix did twice with the bases loaded. It'd be very good if they could take 2 of 3, but the Cubs have to control their own destiny. Last year the Brewers didn't do that and look what happened the Cubs took the Central, we can't do the same thing the Brewers did last year. This Cubs team is very good though and can win every single series (yes even on the road). This weekend we need to take 2 of 3 from San Fran and winning 3 is very possible although Cain and Linceicum are very good pitchers. But the big thing is going to be the first 10 games after the all star break. 6 road games followed up by a 4 game set vs the Marlins who we are 0-9 against in our last 9 games against them dating back to the 03 NLCS i believe.

It's not all that bad, I mean at least the Cardinals lost again, we should be able to take 2 of 3 from the Giants and keep the 4 game lead going into the all star break if not bump it up to 5 games on the Brewers if the Reds decide to play there. But the Brewers are very good at home as well 30-15 I believe. I'd love for Dusty to win 2 games against the Brewers though.

What a disgusting score to come home from work and see, at least the Cards lost, but the Brewers gained a game boooooooo! SWEEP THE GIANTS OR ELSE! actually please just take 2 of 3.
