  1. replacing jones with finley would give me a newfound appreciation for jones.
  2. so the key to winning games is to not have good players...i'm on board! i mean, if the phillies got better after dumping abreu, imagine how good they'd have been if they dumped howard! or howard and utley!
  3. at least i'll get to see hill pitch opening day in des moines!
  4. It's down to Neifi or Hank White. i hate you.
  5. maybe if the mets were there goony would be more willing to go to multiple games. boy, would my wife hate this trip. this year we're hitting seven games in six days, which means a minimum of six meals consisting of brats and nachos and at least five hours of baseball each day. plus a casino trip or two, a couple movies, and six nights of gorging at restaurants every night. man, am i ready to go...
  6. I'm not a ST expert, but I'd suggest not doing 2-a-days. Driving from stadium to stadium would be really tough. I would suggest no more than 1 a day, and even then, I'd take a day or two to do something else. wuss. we usually do one two-game day while we're there. all those two game days are doable. none of those stadiums are too far apart. phoenix and tempe diablo are especially close. surprise is NW of everything...maybe a 30-45 minute drive (depending on what time of day you're doing it) from the phoenix/tempe area. though i just noticed you're sandwiching a tucson game in between two two-game days. that might be a little exhausting b/c tucson is a couple of hours from the phoenix/tempe area. those are going to be three long days, that's for sure.
  7. yeah, i can't imagine doing it w/o a car.
  8. in the six years i've been there, i don't think i've ever eaten in a mesa restaurant. i wouldn't even be able to name one.
  9. really hurts my fantasty team though.
  10. drew's been good and healthy more often and more recently than marquis has been good.
  11. Also, if Theriot proves he can play CF it might spell the end for Pagan in favor of another backup middle infielder. let's hope so.
  12. raisin, you're on the clock. who you taking?
  13. Twice in one week, abuck? That's impressive. like i said...only for towel jokes.
  14. It is, but goony was arguing that he was not a superstar, someone else disagreed with him, and I do too. so...you're arguing that he doesn't deserve the money he got or he does or the cubs should have signed keanu reeves? i'm confused (and losing interest).
  15. HE WAS PROBABLY REACHING FOR A TOWEL! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
  16. the kid in the middle looks like he may want to murder someone.
  17. You sound ridiculous. I said he's not as productive as a true superstar. I don't care about his media attention, that's an absurd thought to even bring up. Don't say he's not a superstar then. Say he's not a great player. Otherwise, you sound ridiculous. who cares whether he's considered a superstar anyway? that distinction is meaningless.
  18. um....ok.
  19. I'll have to disagree with you on this. How many people are members of the 40/40/40 club? I don't really care. It's a worthless stat. His overall numbers don't compare to true superstars, his unique speed/power combo makes him a good story, but not as productive as actual superstars. Just because you don't like him that much doesn't mean he's not a superstar. and just because you think he's a superstar, doesn't mean he is. and you'd be right. especially if you're talking about berkman. who the hell cares if he is "known"...what does that even mean? that he played on the yankees and they talk about him on sportscenter? that's just ridiculous.
  20. i would say that there have been quite a few people with bruised ribs.
  21. great, now the lines will be even longer at the few remaining concession stands.
  22. Capital letters, I think my heart just stopped. i only bust them out for hilarious, completely original towel jokes...they're my vice!
  23. TOWELS! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
  24. i don't think it matters if he was on anyone's roster. my understanding of the rules is that he would not be exempt.
  25. Yeah, b/c hometown discounts for an org that drafted and developed you is completely out of line. Bastard Cubs organization. Worthless arrogant SOBs. i don't get why people expect z to give the cubs a hometown discount. the cubs didn't give him more money when he was pitching at a level above what he was getting paid.
