  1. I was kind of surprised too. I wouldnt worry too much, its probably just has to do with him really sucking lately.
  2. Be careful, it's pretty windy out on that limb. the Braves are 7.5 games back with 3 very good teams ahead of them. Hudsons done for the season, Chippers back to the DL, and now Tex is gone. I think its pretty safe to say they're done.
  3. There's a shortage of quality shortstops across the league, it's a position most teams where many teams would like to upgrade. There will be high demand for Cedeno in the offseason, as he may be amongst the best availble SSs this winter. Like him or not (personally, I don't know how anyone could perceive his value to be near that of a water cooler), he's a pretty good trading chip right now. I wasted some of everybody's time having this argument in the game thread. Cedeno's about as good as you can expect from a backup SS. Guys better than Cedeno aren't backup SS. I know, I know. Hes no worse than Cesar Izturis or Craig Counsell. Id take him over either of those 2 any day.
  4. Just give us a new water cooler to replace the one Zambrano demolished and call it a deal.
  5. seriously, and carlos zambrano is one of our pitchers. every team has at least one or two players who showboat; get over it. No kidding. I'm tired of fans and players and managers who get all pissy when a hitter does the most impressive thing in all of baseball and basks in it. I wish they'd go back to the old days where if you showboat after a homerun, you get earholed next time up. It's ridiculous how much the hitters get away with nowadays. This type of seniment is [expletive]. So why cant a hitter pose after ahome run, but a pitcher can jump up and down and do a happy dance or do some stupid WWE pose after getting out of a jam? Fielders can do the same after a big play, too. Guys in the dugout getting excited...but God forbid the batter does anything but drop the bat and trot around the bases. Stupid. I wanna see someone ride their bat down to 1st like a horse and then Moonwalk the rest of the way. Next time Fontenot homers, Zambrano should meet him at the plate and piggy back him around the bases.

  7. Because hed be the final piece to a guaranteed championship as Nomar was for us.
  8. He was just paying tribute to Chris Benoit.
  9. I havnt heard that the D-Backs were offering Tracy, just that the Braves were demanding Tracy or Connor Jackson for Teixara.
  10. Does this exist yet? If so, sorry. Anyway, rather than starting a new thread tommorow when mega stars like John Grabow, Greg Zaun or Gerald Laird change teams, I figure it would be more efficient to have one thread. Anyway, the exciting deals are done, and I dont expect many more big name players to change teams. Maybe Texeira, maybe Beltre. The annual Red Sox shopping Manny tease will end up as just that, and they'll kiss and make up, as usual.
  11. The Rockies have decided they're back in the race and pulled Fuentes and Holliday off the trading block. They're 6 games back in the sorriest division in the league, so I dont blame them. They might even become buyers.
  12. Is just too bad that Carmen Pignietello fell off.
  13. The more Woods return gets pushed back the more I think Hendry needs to agressively persue a reliever. Marmols a good choice for closer, but then who sets up? Sharks looked good so far, but how much faith do you want to put in a guy whose had 4 major league innings in his career? We cant trust Howry, Lou doesnt trust Eyre or Lieber. That leaves Gaudin, Cotts, Marshall, Shark, and Marmol, which isnt bad, but we need one more guy who can be relied upon.
  14. I agree with a bullpen arm unless Lieber is ready to return by then. Say what you will, but Lieber has been one of the more reliable arms in the pen until he went down.
  15. ANyone who cares should be beaten.
  16. Z just needs to be better than Sheets tonight. bottom line.
  17. Im sure he had potential about 10 years ago, or he never would have made it to the major league level. Now hes just bad.
  18. Next time, Howry should replace Fontenot, and Zambrano should use a sledgehammer.
  19. This may well be the best win of the year for me, no only because of the intensity, but because I'd had it chalked up as a loss for like 2 weeks now.
  20. My fist was seriously 2 inches away from the TV set. Cubs EFFFFING WIN!
  21. You had to walk a guy who would at most hit a blooper in front of a home run guy.
  22. If nothing else, we took Torres out of tommorows game. What was that, 40 some pitches?
  23. Pretend its May Carlos. Please dont make me break anything.
