  1. Looks like Wellington Castillos been added to Iowas roster to take Koyie Hills place. Strange that Jake Fox didnt get the call. I wonder if more are to come. Jose Ceda would be a good choice to replace wuertz in their pen.
  2. It's their ace vs. our number 5. 3 game losing streak much? Oh well, hopefully Johan can take care of the Brew Crew and we can go back to kicking tail and taking names tommorow.
  3. I dont know, I think that Iowa may have something to do with it. Its not like Pie and Hart are guys that will be keys to us in September, but they would be to Iowa. Piewould be a pinch runner, and if they really want that, they can grab Fuld from Tennesee, and Hart would probably be used for mop up duty and make big defecits bigger.
  4. At least we dont face Brian Moehler, who as it turns out has been doing pretty good against teams other than the Cubs lately.
  5. i feel horrible for him too, ned, but mostly because of what you're doing to his arm. Im sure that he'll still be crying about it in the winter when he gets a record shattering contract.
  6. I don't agree with Sabathia throwing this many CG (except for today) but why is this just assumed that Sabathia got lit up from being overused? He did face the 2 of the best teams in the AL last year in the postseason. Okay, I guess he just can't beat good teams then. Anyway a point I saw brought up on BTF is that a big part of a no hitter is holding on to it as you start counting down outs late. CC didn't have that pressure because of the hit. He didn't have to worry about making his perfect pitches because he had nothing to pitch for. (And a logical manager wouldn't have had him pitching to begin with. Well obviously thats part of it, but if MLB does overturn the call its not going to matter because it will count as a no hitter. Yes, but SSR's point is a good one and I hope MLB takes it into account. Should CC get a no-hitter when he didn't really have to go through the same circumstances as others who have gotten no-hitters? It should make it into the discussion at least. I totally agree, also on the flip side.. Should CC not get a no hitter because some offical scorer gives a player a hit on a ball that could easily go as an error, more so than a hit? Its going to be interesting in what they do. I COULD see them overturning it and could also see them not as well. Wah wah wah, CC and Milt Pappas can cry in each others arms abou it.
  7. Win this game sweep the series. Lose this game, win the series. I expect the Mets to take 2 of 3 from the Brewers, so we'll have our 6.5 game lead back.
  8. If I won the lottery, Id have more money than I do now.
  9. I was thinkig the same thing. If we called up everyone, then that would kind of screw over Listach. If we realy needed all of those guys that would be one thing, but we really dont. Are they allowed to send some Tennessee guys to the Iowa roster like Jake Fox or Tyler Colvin to take their spots at Iowa?
  10. Yeah, from the beginning of the set, we expected to split with the Phils and the Brewers to sweep the Pirates. No sense getting all worked up when it happened that way. Also, with the Brewers playing the Mets, and the Cubs the Astros, I expect to end those series with the 6.5 game lead back, or at the very least 5.5.
  11. Why does this team insist on going through these useless phases?
  12. no you couldn't. he's #2 in pitcher abuse points, so you could look up one pitcher who has the same workload as cc. Whose #1 just out of curiosity?
  13. This has all the look and feel of a fake rally. routine DP right here.
  14. Kosuke finally does something. With Cedeno and the pitchers spot coming up. Chalk this up as a big fat nothing.
  15. Who knows, maybe this offense can show some signs of life here.
  16. I dont expect much coming out of this half inning.
  17. I'm not worried yet. 4.5 up with just at a month to play is still a decent sized lead. Not to mention that were 11 games up on a playoff spot.
  18. The heart of the order really needs to put in some work today. I doubt that the Phillies are done scoring here.
  19. Come on Fuku, hit something ot of the damn infield.
  20. Looks to be one of those bottom of the order does all the work games. For what its worth though, the team that scored first lost all 3 games so far.
