After listening to thew game highlights on the radio, it sounds like lady luk had as much to do with this win as anything, between the overthrow at first by Rollins and the Ryah Howard out at frst thing.

Yes, this would be the exception that proves the rule. And if I remember correctly, the Phillies also got a gift run, so it's 1-1 on that count. Hopefully they'll take that into consideration at the end if we cant muster up any more runs.

Not an error because you can't assume the DP. The run scored from third but the ball didn't get away far enough to allow Ward to advance a base (if it had gotten away an error would have been recorded). The ball would have to end up in Evanston for Ward to advance a base. Have you ever been to Evanston? It's not that far from Wrigley. Maybe to Old Orchard.

Wel, it was recorded as an error but there was nothing wrong with that throw. Howard got in the way of it scampering back to first base and the ball got away enough to allow a run to score. It was fluky. Is it still a "slump" when it lasts the better part of a season?
