  1. if you're one of the people in the "who's more irrational" discussion, as a rule of thumb, you should probably just assume that it's you. No, not exactly. I for one am not on the meltdown band wagon, however, I accept the fact that it could be a possibility. There are some out there that refuse it to be possible, because were the best team in the NL, and have the best pythag, and so on. Aside from yesterday, this team looks legitamately bad. Granted, the Brewers dont look much better, but Im sick of accepting a loss because they did as well. The bottom line, is, folks need to drop the irrationality card. Bigger collpases have hapened.
  2. you're not stupid, just irrational after tough losses. I know I'm being irrational. That's why I'm asking you, no one is worried that we've very quickly knocked off over a third of our lead in a week, and we are going to be playing a really really difficult schedule over the last 19 games? i am. the 99.whatever% is b.s., just like the cubs being so heavily favored vs the dbacks last post-season was b.s. the cubs weren't heavily favored against the d-bags. at best they were probably like 60% to win that series, and in reality it was probably about 50/50. this is 99/1. not even close to being similar situations. At what point do we start to ask whose being more irrational, they people who keep saying that the seasons over and the team is melting down, or the people who refuse to entertain the thought that it could happen.
  3. Should be 15 actually we shouldn't have won that game against the rockies back in may, so it should be 16. But we should have won that game vs. St. Louis where Shammy McShammerson blew the save, so back to 15.
  4. Cant we just agree that Woody looked like crap and Cedeno has no buisness on baseball field?
  5. Bring it Woody. Marmol took care of that nasty Joey Votto for you.
  6. Looks like after a short but spectacular break, the Cobs are back in full force. Hopefully they go away again.
  7. Better pull Phillips now. We need him at 100% for tommorow.
  8. Bartolo Colon or Dennys Reyes tom gorzelanny I've said it before, I'll say it again: Ezequiel Astacio Randy Johnson says hi to this bunch of beauty queens.
  9. Please let good Soriano be back for good.
  10. I wouldnt worry too much. With the combination of the 9-1 lead at the time, and Santo being a senile old coot, I doubt theres anything wrong.
  11. No surprise there. Shark was do for a bad inning, Marmol threw 1 bad pitch, and Wuertz is horrible.
  12. all hail jason marquis, alfonso soriano, and most importantly, the game thread pimp himself
  13. So...you've been gone for a week huh? And all this misery started a week ago today. Hmm.
  14. I'll be missing out on this one, but lets hope that we end up with this http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/2007/05/19/EvqlNgfr.jpg And not this http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j74/KurtEvans/marquisdesuck.jpg
  15. It actully made the front page on Yahoo. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/Lou-Piniella-sets-out-for-Cincinnati-ends-up-ne?urn=mlb,105902 Maybe its a symbol for the way the season will end up. Sure, they made a wrong turn and got lost, but they ended up in the right place in the end.
  16. The should have been Cobs 3 games ago. They're in Losers territory now.
  17. If Marquis ends this disaster, I vow not to bad mouth him fo the rest of the season, no matter what he does, and yes, in my book he will earn himself a spot on the playoff roster.
  18. Time for some tweakage to Lous precious heart of the lineup? Why not, Lous played around with every lineup spot except leadoff and 3,4. I know he doesnt like to tamper, but desperte times call for desperate measurs. I didnt realise that editing the options would reset the poll. Oh well.
  19. The only hope now is to dig up the corpse of Billy Sianis and urinate on it and then burn it. That or sign Barry Bonds for the remainder of the season.
  20. at least the Astros finally lost.
  21. Walkenbourg is more fitting.
  22. one of those games where nobody does anything right.
  23. Unfortunately, the Padres failed to pay their bill.
