  1. Now I dont feel as bad about Lee getting thrown out.
  2. The more I look at it, it seems more like the 09 Brewers may be more the 05 Cubs. After 2 good seasons, in 03-04, with the Cubs had a forgettable 05 before the bottom dropped out in 06.
  3. Nice job for a guy I didnt think would make it to the 4th,
  4. Whether we win or loose, Im just glad we finally got to Lohse after the annoucers spent the entire game gushing over him.
  5. didnt need to get thrown out getting greedy, but good job none the less.
  6. Ya till July, just like last year i dunno, they have the best hitter in baseball and another one of the top 10 hitters in the game, plus lohse is now a lot better than the back of the rotation guy that he was before he arrived in st. louis. i guess it depends on whether wainwright and carpenter are healthy for the stretch run. Pujuls/Ludwick may be the best 3-4 in the NL, but the rest of their lineup is questionable at best, but if Ankiel, Duncan, and Glause end up productive, watch out. If they have Carpenter healthy for any length of time, Carp-Wain-Lohse will be a very solid front of the rotation.
  7. Yeah, I dont get the feeling that we win this one, but you never know.
  8. I think the list of guys Id prefer Derrek Lee over in a clutch situation is limited to Aaron Miles, and even then, its a close call.
  9. i'm not surprised you would feel this way. I agree with Erik. I assure you, if you go back into some of our old game threads, especially the ones that were locked up, you'll find a lot more over reactionary than Elias here. The only reason you wont find any profanity is because its filtered out.
  10. Yovanni and Johan have a nice pitchers duel going into the 7th, 0-0.
  11. With absolutely no self-awareness. It really is amazing how people like that can function in society. I dont know if youve noticed, but hes always alone.
  12. I was thinking that too. Its like he predicted everything was going to happen and reacted as if he knew it was coming, like he scripted it. Had the show been on the other foot, and I knew a Pujols go ahead homer was coming, I wouldnt have the yup, I knew it was coming reaction as he did. Had he been watching live, he would have had a lot more of a reaction when Soriano hit his shot, especially knowing how irational the guy is. He also called the Khalil Greene DP a bit too well.
  13. Honestly, it really doesnt matter. Either hes suspended for 2 games now when hes not 100% healthy and not quite productive or they win an appeal and hes suspended for 1 game down the road on a day where hed be rested anyway. Its sridiculous technicality anyway, and until the playrs union bands together against it, things like that will continue. The umps have too much power, and the players can squash it anytime they want to if they're willing to strike.
  14. Id just assume give Chad Fox, whose been dominant in Iowa as he was during ST one last chance before all else.
  15. Im so worried about the backage retrieval system they've got at Heathrow.
  16. LOL they are so bad, it makes me happy. Remember they were in dead last well after this point last season. Well this season they don't and won't have Sheets and won't acquire Sabathia at the deadline. No, but they have Gallardo, and could conceivably pick up another quality pitcher in the next few months, and those bats have to pick up sooner or later.
  17. 7 of their 9 wins were against the offensively challenged Braves and the everythingly challenged Nationals.
  18. LOL they are so bad, it makes me happy. Remember they were in dead last well after this point last season.
  19. I wonder of he realises how much of a celebrity he is at NSBB.
  20. In fairness to Captain Wackjob, he doesnt sound any less rational than we do after a tough loss. The only difference is hes talking to himself, likely with the remains of his "wife" in a steamer trunk in the garage.
