  1. Im not a fan of beating dead horses, but Im not quite sure what this one means? Is that supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing, because they're really completely different players in every way from their position to their style to their path to the major leagues.
  2. Sure it's easy to make a simple statement like that, but it's likely not just the lineup issue that people were unhappy with. As far as "chemistry" in the sense of players playing well together then I'd have to say that doesn't matter very much in baseball. But as far as players' moods, I think it can be extremely important. No matter what sport it is, individual or team, your mindset DOES affect your performance. I know that for me personally, when I start getting frustrated with myself or my team, I am much more likely to strike out or shoot an airball or whatever it is. Then the problem just snowballs. It shouldnt. Theres nothing that annoys me moe than terms like clubhouse cancer. Maybe in basketball and football where the team has to work as a unit the entire time, then maybe it could have an effect, but I can imagine that in baseball, players not getting along would cause guys to strike out or botch a simple play.
  3. We need to make this game quick, because Quade has plans after the game to destroy James Bond.
  4. In fact, I didn't see Jay Jackson on the Iowa roster period. Good thing Carpenters going to be in the pen when we will more than likely be in need of a new starting pticher in 5 days. Casey Coleman it is I guess.
  5. That was quite the roller coaster. Hopefully Cashners OK.
  6. .196 BABIP last year. He's about the easiest candidate for a bounceback in the entire league. Which is why if the Jays do trade him, they'll want to wait until the trade deadline if not the offseason and hope he can get his stock up.
  7. BTW, I can safely say Ive never heard of any of the pitchers the D Backs have thrown at us this afternoon.
  8. the 4 pitch walk by Colvin was in a way more impressive than a granny.
  9. This would be a good spot for another Ty Co Bomb.
  10. He was having a great outing, and it sucks that he went down, but truth be told, hes a 5 starter, and its not going to kill us. Casey Coleman will likely get the first crack at the job if need be, and we have Carpenter and Jackson if he falters, unless Quade really goes rogue and brings up McNutt, which I personally wouldnt recomend, but I didnt expect to see Starlin Castros big league debut until 2012-2013, so who knows.
  11. I'm starting to think that Starlin Castro is very good at baseball.
  12. Last I checkes he was going to be out of baseball for the next 5 years and resurface on a minor league deal with an invite to spring training with the Orioles.
  13. At least we have some decent pop off the bench with Soto and Pena if need be.
  14. After the Cashner injury ruining the game, looks like the bullpen is poised to completely [expletive] on it.
  15. Right arm amputation. http://www.moviemobsters.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Black-Knight-monty-python-380119_800_441.jpg Its only a flesh wound.
  16. So whose next in line if Cashner misses time? Im going to guess Casey Coleman, although Chris Carpenter would be my choice. [expletive].
  17. Ever play the game Angry Birds? You know that sound the pigs make when you fail to take them out? Well Carlos Silva just made that noise, and he doesnt yet know why.
  18. Has Cashner looked as good as Gameday would lead me to believe?
  19. Still, if ever there was a time to at least give him a start, it would be vs a mediocre righty on a bad team. DeWitt hits left-handers better than right-handers so far in his career, Enright was better against left-handers than right-handers last year (although part of that was probably BABIP luck), and Cashner is a heavy ground ball pitcher. It's not exactly the perfect day to give DeWitt the start. This could make things quite ugly with Castro launching balls at an in experienced 1st baseman.
