  1. I personally think that Colvin will end up as a 4th outfielder or even in a platoon with Soriano.
  2. Are you just assuming the acquiring teams will ignore every other year of his career when evaluating him? I'm not suggesting that we're going to get Domonic Brown or Jesus Montero for him just that he's a very cheap 2 month rental for a team looking for a solid bat off the bench. it's 2 months and he'd be coming off the bench. you don't get "solid young high upside prospects" for that. Bingo. I'd love to trade Reed and think other teams should be legitimately interested in him. But I'd be shocked if we got much more than an Evan Crawford type for him... a mildly intriguing prospect with significant holes is a pretty reasonable price. Exactly, and that's all that I'd be expecting. Even if Johnson had a better past track record, there's really only so much you can expect from a 2 month rental, but we may as well cash him in for what we can get. A young guy with upside is all I'm asking for. Even an Abner Abreu type would be a great return considering that Reed was a minor league invitee. This being said, I'd probably expect very similar returns for Johnson and Pena.

  4. Maybe it's time to stop messing around with Tyler Colvin and call the kid up.
  5. Szczur 2-5, Watkins 3-5, all singles.
  6. Reed Johnson must be generating some interest. In a limited role, he has a .325 BA with a .900 OPS. That must be intriguing to contenders in need of some pop off the bench. We should be able to get a solid young high upside prospect for him.
  7. I'd much prefer the 25-30 guys with a lot of quality over a filler laden 30-35.
  8. I really like Shoulders, but I wonder what that would say about Vogelbach. Are you suggesting that Vogebach might be getting away so they're giving that money to Shoulders? That wouldn't make me happy. Missing out on some late round gems is one thing, but a 2nd rounder is another, but I guess that's a risk you take when you draft that many high schoolers in the early rounds.
  9. Again, I know the difference between your and you're, were and we're, I just don't put max effort into my spelling and grammar when posting. again, you put no effort into it, which is why people will continue to give you a hard time. i guess you can just deal with that. Doesn't bother me. Just clarifying that I know my grammar. Seems to bother you a bit more than me. I have no problem with you, think your a great contributor, just saying that my grammar is probably going to continue to suck, especially when I do a good bulk of my posting on an I Pad and those apostrophes are more trouble than they're worth.
  10. He's their Koyie Hill, with much longer tenure. He's not going away until it's on his own terms.

  12. Is this about the same time they did this type of thing last year?
  13. Me too. But disappointment.....it's part of life as a Cub fan. Your basically trying to Beetlejuice up Nuts & Gum, arent you.
  14. Yep, you're right. For some reason I was thinking Lou was here for 3 years instead of four. But was he really HERE for much of 2010?

  16. Another nice one for Austin Kirk. Taiwan Easterling and his chiseled, rock hard abs went 4-5 with a 2B.
  17. I remember those well. They seemed to have the same celebs every year. Then they came out with the rock & jock basketball with the 8 point line and what not.
  18. Yeah, they should definitely be Black Soxing it up right about now to get rid of those 2.
  19. Id say walk Hernandez, but Cairos the type of putz that would hit a granny here.
  20. Never estimate the power of a small, gritty white guy.
  21. With the combination of his manager and velocity, Aroldis' career is destined to end by his 25th birthday.
  22. So Todd Hundley? Who was the fellow we got for Michael Barrett then later traded for Jason Kendall. That guy was bad.
  23. Thats odd. Spencers been pretty bad lately. Down to a .258/.788 line after a hot start.
