  1. FWIW, the fewest number of runs scored by the Cubs during any 3 game stretch this season has been 4. This came vs. The Dodgers May 30-June 1 (W: 2-0, L: 0-5, W: 2-1.) Going out on an 0-1 loss and a 3 game stretch in which we total 2 runs would be quite anticlimactic; and quite un-Cublike.
  2. It's the kind of unintentional but unapologetic white entitlement that this nation has been trying to shake from our culture, and these guys are trying to reel it right back. Every win for the Cleveland Indians is a win for outdated thinking. Every win the Cleveland Indians is a win for Donald Trump.
  3. I'm going add to this that if things don't go our way this evening, we'll all be pissing, and griping, and venting. And that's great. But there's no excuse for the 'if we ever make it back' type of b.s., especially from the board's smarter and more rational posters. Because whatever happens between now and Wednesday, we're taking one of the top 3 offenses in baseball, and adding Kyle Schwarber and a full time Wilson Contreras. We're taking an outstanding rotation and maybe losing Jason Hammel. The bullpen may have some question marks going forth, but I'm more than confident that they'll be answered and answered very well. So to anybody who wants to get an early jump on waiting 'till next year, more power to you. But I'm waiting for tonight, and I'll go from there.
  4. I am by no means superstitious, but I think that the answer is to sacrifice Joe Buck. I could be wrong, but worst case scenario is that there's no more Joe Buck.
  5. I don't know about regression. Other than last night, the Indians are executing a game plan that simply can't be utilized during the regular season; if so, Corey Kluber and Andrew Miller would be on the operating table by summer. Basically, Like the Red Sox and Blue Jays, The Cubs are built for a marathon. The Indians are built for a sprint. If we're going to succeed where the Sox and Jays could not, we're going to have to make them run a few extra miles.
  6. We're going to win tonight by a lot. Tomorrow night, we trick and/or treat. Tuesday, we win in convincing fashion. Wednesday is sure to be an all out classic.
  7. Can't say I don't like our chances tomorrow with Lester vs. the idiot who sliced up his pinky fixing his toy.
  8. The least these idiots could do is make him throw a few extra pitches.
  9. It's hard to work baseball tickets and scratch off tickets into the budget when you don't have a job.
  10. Joe needs to give some of these guys, particularly KB and Javy the rest of the night off.
  11. At least there's no more reason to watch this horsefeathers show. Not unless somebody can unleash a hungry panther or two into the announce booth.
  12. Perhaps they'd been playing over their heads? All season? No way. WS? Yes. Folding under the pressure. I don't think it's even folding under the pressure as it is being unprepared for this particular opponent.
  13. Perhaps they'd been playing over their heads? You don't play over your head for 174 games.
  14. Because they swing at everything. Suddenly, our entire team's been possessed by 2005 Corey Patterson.
  15. Cubs choke? Nah. Not directed at you, but I had just assumed that this narrative would have died with us getting to the World Series. It has not. That makes me disappointed. It's not a choke job. It's the Indians doing what they've done all post season, and we don't have any more of an answer than the Red Sox or Blue Jays.
  16. Indians acting as though they know this one is over. I guess 2016's been their world all along and they've been letting folks play in it.
  17. I guess we can maybe beat Bauer tomorrow and maybe that other guy Tuesday.
