    The really stupid part is that there is only one pitcher in this series that is better than Billingsley, and we have him, but he wouldn't be available for a hypothetical Game 5 because...well, I've never quite figured out that because. the dodgers would be scared to face Z in chicago for a game 5 2 straight playoffs wins under the players belts...confidence back to their normal levels and beyond your dead wrong they wouldn't be crapping their [expletive] pants

    yes i did...it is called personal superstition... what does fth mean? when we were having our craptastic september slump...i burned two hats and another shirt...and they started winning...i burned the last piece of that fukudome shirt last night before the game...it was the front cubbie bear that was attached to my backpack... i guess my burning luck has run out or it just doesn't work in the playoffs :banghead: Am I reading this right? yes man, why does this shock a couple of people...i didn't burn your stuff you're a weirdo your mom is a weirdo haha, my mom burned her cubs hat in 1984 and hasn't followed the cubs since. i'm really not making that up. nice man...by the by...in case i ever crack off any more your momma jokes around here...i do it all the time in jest...nothing personal :hello:

    Exactly, there is one thing I've got a pretty strong feeling about - LA better close them out Saturday night. If they allow the Cubs to get one, its going to loosen the Cubs up, they'll play better and LA' will be in for a world of hurt. Yep, Lilly even said the move to LA might loosen these guys up. 2 postseasons without a win, I think if they get a win they'll all loosen up A LOT. If we get swept out of this postseason as well I can't even imagine how tense this team will be next year.. Yep, just like last year when we were coming home to Chicago..... :-" the game that firmly cemented Rich Hill's nickname in the scripture of Cub lore.

    I think this makes more sense than those who are claiming this team isn't motivated enough or they don't care. this really is hitting the nail on the head ya'll the series last year really was nothing as bad as this year...they just played like pig poop last year...this year though i mean, the second inning last night!?!?!?!? tight tight tight tight and then a little uptight for good measure... for game 3, maybe the scoreboard people can help us out and go ahead and give the dodgers an 8 run lead...maybe they will play a little more loose then...

    Knowing a few Red Sox fans, whether it's this year or not, it'll all be well worth it when it does happen. And if we keep spending like this and making the playoffs on a consistent basis, it will happen. Eventually. the funny thing is...they had 11 straight playoff loses before they finally picked up one of those elusive wins...my best friend is a red sox fan and he said that to me the other night...something i didn't know...THAT MEANS WE WILL HAVE TO DO THIS AGAIN NEXT YEAR IF WE GET THAT FAR... plus...our story is slightly worse than the redsox...so...how many consecutive playoff loses does this team need? 12, 15, 20? maybe it is just 8, and we can flip it on its side and go to infinity and beyond!
