    For a guy thats going back to school DunstonJr sure does tease on his twitter a lot. Today he tweeted "It's getting closer". If your going back to school why drag it out till the signing deadline why not say hey things didnt work out with the Cubs and Im going to college.

    more recent pics of him in Boise have him looking thick but athletic, he doesn't look "fat" to me.

    Why is that? We don't do it very often, and by all accounts, he was the best remaining hitter as far as upside is concerned. And of course, the jury is still out on Vitters. They have a terrible track record of developing these players, and that's largely due to the fact that a) the guys they draft have no concept of the strikezone and b) the Cubs don't teach it once they draft him. I don't know much about Baez's approach, but if he's a toolsy free swinger, it's hard to have hope for him in this organization. Yeah, that pretty much sums up my feelings.

    Well I guess Baez is better than an unknown Cuban. At least people knew who he was when he was drafted lol I hope he works out, the more I read the better I feel, but I hate seeing them draft high school position players.

    great, just great.... if they take another guy that's not on anyone else's 1st round radar I'm gonna throw up.

    Mostly lack of upside. He's got 5 tools, but none of them profile as plus. And unless his defense improves, he'll probably be relegated to a corner spot. He's just kinda underwhelming for a first rounder. Edit: That's not to say he's a particularly bad pick or anything... just not the franchise changer we all find ourselves hoping for. Sounds like a Wilken pick to me, high floor low ceiling mediocrity. Bleh We really need more 4th outfielders.

    I find it very useful myself. Doubtful, it seems you never miss an opportuity for conflict. I find it amusing that you have essentially tried insulting me repeatedly while complaining about how people treat others. I've got a good half dozen names on the list who I can easily avoid. If there is a discussion where I feel like they may not be an idiot, I can still read specific posts to test the waters. That's leading me to probably taking one of those guys off the list. Wow, and I find it amusing that you think someone calling you out on how you treat others an insult. I'm done with you, enjoy chasing someone else into oblivion.

    Yeah, sometimes the bullying people into going away works, but I am often perplexed by how many people argue ad nauseum with people who only want to argue. If you know getting into it with a particular person will only precipitate an endless and circuitous argument, why bother? Sometimes ignoring the problem is the solution. Agreed, how do you foe someone anyway. I have a few people I could do without.

    I'm pretty confused. How does thinking that some people's opinions are worthless make you a know it all? I did state an opinion and then leave the thread. for some reason someone felt the need to drag it all here and then persist with a relentless written beat down. This is the very reason people don't post here. People like you who just can't let people present an opinion without trying to prove something to them. I'm not even sure what the heck it is your trying to accomplish.

    You're talking about other people's worthless opinions and complaining about egotistical know it alls? Never claimed to know much of anything honestly, didn't say all of the opinions were worthless and didn't feel the need to single out anyone for further humiliation over their opinions.

    Still think Pena sucks, if you don't agree I don't really care. I didn't read that thread again after I posted that because I knew what was coming after. You don't have to go on and on about your opinion and how much you value it after someone says something you disagree with. Other people posted their opinions I posted mine. There's no need to degrade someone's post because you think it's worthless, I thought most of the opinions in that thread were worthless but I didn't feel the need to go off on how worthless their posts were. It's why I avoid the baseball discussions thread for the most part these days. it's filled with egotistical know it alls. people really need to lighten up.

    What are people's opinions of Wilken's overall body of work with the Cubs? It seems pretty lackluster to me honestly.

    maybe they saw the train wreck of a season coming and didn't want to put Sandberg through that. that might be giving them to much credit though.
