  1. I was mildly frightened but it didn't look like he got ahold of it enough. I've seen Pujols hit some like that, and they still haven't landed. Yeah but he is an inhuman robot. Albert Pujols is either the best hitter in baseball or he's damn close. He has 266 career HR and he's played in a total of like 65 baseball games. He has a .418 career OBP. And a walk, mind you, ties the game. He is 12 feet tall, and each of his lats weighs 80 pounds. His bat is 60 inches long and is made of Bigfoot's spine. He is a monstrous monster who eats sliders. Not balls that were used to throw sliders, mind you -- he has figured out a way to eat the concept of sliders. The dude hits with a closed stance only because Marty Barrett bet him he couldn't hit with a closed stance like Barrett did and still win the MVP and Pujols did it just to stave off the boredom that had come from solving baseball. He once hit a home run on a hit-by-pitch. He has more hits left-handed than anyone in baseball history has right-handed -- and he is right handed. He completed an MD-PhD at Hopkins in one hour and gave a graduation address (in Greek), and he had to miss a game against the Pirates in 2003, and he still went 2-4 with a double. The home run he hit off Lidge in the NLCS....just now landed, in Banff. He is awesome. I STILL HATE HIS GUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. I thought he hit that one out when it first came off the bat.
  4. I was trying to see the justification of bringing in Eyre, but there is none. I think that two games total in July isn't a large enough test sample. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5869/splits;_ylt=AhM3RX1vyGvE3MItvCf9iISFCLcF
  5. HOLY COW, the national championships of ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS, is on ESPN 2 right now. I thought this was a joke, but it's the real deal. Odd.
  6. What happened to Floyd this time, and did it have anything to do with the triple in the first?
  7. Just didn't want to be "guilty by association" because of your "original" thinking.
  8. Yeah, I saw that and wasn't too happy about his choice of words about the team.
  9. I'm waiting to see what comes on my FOX HD channel. According to DTV, I'm also getting Cards and Phils. BS. By the way, I don't see Lilly getting rocked.
  10. I'm not sure that it will happen either. The only reason that I see the possibility is because Lou wants a strong arm guy in the ninth, and even though Dempster can throw hard, he's not a "here it is, see if you can hit it" type of pitcher, such as K-Rod. Howry and Marmol are exactly that type though. As far as stretching it out, now's the chance to do it without any detriment to the team, he can do it in the minors whenever he rehabs.
  11. Weurtz has been terrible lately. Maybe Wood can replace him and he can get his head right in the minors again.
  12. Forgive me if this has been brought up, but I've got a gut feeling that we've seen Dempster's last days as a closer. Something tells me that when he gets back, Hill or Marshall might not be around any longer. With Marmol and Howry at the end of the pen, Piniella has exactly what he wants. I hope none of this happens, but I won't be suprised to see Dempster walking the bases loaded in the first instead of the ninth.
  13. I know that Hill doesn't throw overly hard, but if he could develope a change up that he only threw around 75-80, that dove down and away to the righties, he would win a cy young award in the next couple of years.
  14. Thanks for the info, but I'm looking for 8 of them, so I'm looking for as cheap as I can get.
  15. Does anyone have some cheap tickets to the Cubs at Reds over the July 27-29 weekend? I'm in the Air Force in Arkansas, but will be in Cinci that weekend. Thanks in advance.
  16. in 2-3 years youd be sinking 90 mil+ per year into your starting rotation. Well worth it.
  17. I would take the top five starting pitchers in the game... off the top of my head: Johan Santana Roy Oswalt Zambrano Halliday Sabathia or Verlander
  18. So did Woody throw off of the mound today or not? I haven't seen anything that says either way.
  19. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports_hardball/2007/06/terrible-news.html
  20. Here's next years Cy Young winner. He's got some skills and I'm sure that the Cards will harness them. This sucks. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2913104
  21. I've continually wondered that myself. If Rolen is behind him, then I could understand pitching to him sometimes, but there is no reason that he should ever have anymore at bats that Bonds as long as they don't have someone in the line-up that can give him some legitimate protection. I'd walk him every opportunity unless Z was pitching against him. The only thing that I wouldn't do is walk him if nobody was on or if I was moving up more runners by walking him. I've never understood why teams do that.
  22. Thanks man, I'm guessing that there isn't a video out there that I could get my hands on.
  23. thanks, but all I'm getting is a red x.
