    By the way, the whole New Orleans Saints thing was vastly overblown. The New Orleans media attacked us for photo shopped pictures that were floating around the internet,not actually problems at the game. Plus New Orleans is much worse place to attend a game,(just ask any one who attended last years Bears/Saints game in LSU). I admit that Solider Field is not the most friendly place in the world, but the NFC championship game in a city in which has not seen such a sight since Ryne Sandberg had a stach is not the best place for opposing fans to hang out. Overall Chicago is one of the top three best sports city. I just saying stop the lies and open your eyes to the truth. As a Bears fan, I was greatly offended by the claims of the Saints and there fans and I really was offended that the national media ran with stories which were short on facts and a little bit of sore losers syndrome.

    I am not calling for games to be called, but as an educator I am certainly not concern about the Cubs anymore. No one in their right minds would want to care about baseball when a event like this has occurred. Just my opinion......

    My Lineup 1.The Riot 2b 2.Murton Lf Walks, Walks and more Walks 3.Soriano Cf Fastballs, Fastballs and more Fastballs 4.Lee 1b 5.Ramirez 3b 6.Barret C 7.DeRosa RF 8.Cesar SS Lefty, Righty order thing really is not that important. A good rhb can hit both lhp and rhp with little difficulty as opposed to a lhb(Jones, Floyd) who struggle with lhp. This is the ideally lineup I see with a good balance of defense, patience in the correct spots and power.

    I really did not mind the blue jerseys all that much, I just got sick of them because the Cubs wore them it seemed like everyday. I think that a alt. jersey needs to be just that, an alt. to the normal jersey. A former Cubs player told me once that the blue jerseys were more comfortable to wear so that why they wore them all the time......I don't know about that but I will miss the blue jersey just because I absolutely hate the grey road jerseys, the Cubs looked like a JV/Freshmen high school baseball team that did not have enough money to purchase more than one color in stitching...trust me I coached high school baseball and most team at that level have better looking jerseys than the road uni.

    I bought 7 3/8 and its still a bit big, not the tight fit I like. I look like embarrassing Polish version of KFed when I wear my hat so I hope it shrinks a little bit. Anyone try soaking their hat yet???

    I bought one and I still have not decided if I like it or not. Did anyone else have a problem with sizing? I found all the sizes to run way larger then the old hats, plus they don't shrink so I really don't know what size i wear in the new hat. I have always worn a 7 1/2 but I found myself trying on 7 1/8 to 7 3/8....

    Hill does have good control, but still will walk 90 to 100 batters a season, I was trying to say that strikeout pitchers throw more pitches, therefore increase the chances for giving up walks. Hill and Z like to rack up the K's so walks will occur.

    What a difference a year has made. I know its just spring training but Cubs hitters have gone to the plate with idea during their at bats. Compare to last years disaster, in which Slappy and crew would see about 11 pitches an inning, and Dusty gave everyone the "home run sign" so there would be no clogging of the bases. The pitching will improve their walk totals due to Lilly, Miller and Marquis. They are not really strikeout pitchers , they pitch to contact which could be a good or bad thing....We will find out quickly. Zambrano and Hill will walk a ton of hitters, thats not going to change its the nature of their style of pitching. Lou will not tolerate players not producing, so I believe Lou when talks about this years team. If a player is not patience at the plate and make bad outs he will sit, same thing with the pitching staff walk to many guys and you will find yourself in Iowa.....would dusty ever have optioned Marky Mark to AAA, or even yell at a player during the spring. To be fair to Lou, the Cubs former manager ran this team into the ground(96 loses) so any thing he does would be improvement, there is no place to go but up.......................

    I did not see any radar guns out there today, so it could be awhile. All I know is he threw harder then Wuertz but not as hard as Guzman, so I think the 86-91 range is accurate, along the lines of Muskat and the "unnamed scout" who was keeping a close eye on Angel Guzman(not trying to start a rumor just informing the interested parties who could not attend or view todays ballgame).

    low 90's by the naked eye, topped out at 91 according to a scout I briefly talked to.

    Prior threw well today, low 90's. Had some problems with command on the breaking ball and left some fastballs over the plate. He looked the best I saw him all spring, but he still was not finishing batters. He had batters 0-2 more than once and failed to make the batter get himself out(pitchers counts), and allowed them off the hook. Looked good overall, it a shame he was demoted. I honestly think the Cubs and Prior will part after this season, in one way or another. Prior and his father's egos (the next Tom Seaver) are too big for a demote. Only bad can come from this, if you are a Prior fan.

    It is not about how hard Prior throws, I don't understand peoples obsession with how hard pitchers throw, its about command, location and deception. Prior has the ability to harness all of these things. Velocity is necessary but only to a point, Prior would be a more consistent pitcher if he topped out around 90 to 92 because he would have to rely on pitching rather then just trying to blow everyone away with heat(Wood, Prior and DL Stints), If you want hard throwers go to double A ball, because throwing hard only gets you so far. Strikeout are fascist..........Bull Durham And yes command and location are two different things......

    Just a quick update on the weather, the wind has died down so it should not be a problem. We had huge dust storms yesterday so there still a chance today but things seem calm. If you guys saw yesterdays score from Arizona every game had at least double digit scores, the Padres put up a 24 spot on the Rangers

    Prior problem is that he has no confidence in his stuff. He has no mean streak, he timid on the mound. He is thinking to much and not the same pitcher he was at USC or in 03. Being angry is what dominate pitchers do. Intimidation and supreme confidence in your abilities to dominate any hitter is the key capitalizing on God given talents(Rocket Arm, Crazy movement), Randy Johnson figured this out(took him 5 plus years), Curt Schilling(took him just as long), even someone as weak as Kenny Rogers. Prior has the stuff and the ability it just comes down to if he wants it.

    Most likely even if Prior does dominate, Prior will be headed to extended spring training and a 15 day DL stint, and will return April 16 or 17 to replace Angel Guzman or Wade Miller. Lou likes to play mental games with his players to get the most out of them. it worked in Cinnci for little while, until Dibs confronted him. I just was saying that you can't always rely on what Lou says to the media, because there is more to story then we know, like Wade Miller is the 5th starter............He may be for the rest of the week but it could change quickly if Prior responds to Lou's bait.

    Lou is the master at using the media so just be aware that things aren't as they appear to be.

    Maddux is mean and he tops out at 85 mph, 90 is plenty fast is you know how to locate it. Prior has the stuff to dominate without throwing 95, he has just lacked control, watch any start he has thrown this spring. I will be at todays game in the beautiful wind blown desert, expect 20 to 30 mph winds today. Lots of runs!!!!!!!!!!

    I hope today we see angry Prior, the pitcher with a huge mean streak, we have not seen him since the line drive game. So here to Lou getting under Marky Marks skin and waving the triple A bus ticket in his face. Prior would be the best pitcher in baseball if he just started hanging out with Big Z. Angry, crazy Prior would dominate, like Clemens( the secret is ICEY HOT on the privates, no lie). I 100% believe that all Prior problems right now are mental and a little motivation or pressure from the manager might change things.

    I was at the game Sunday and Woody looked real bad, like first week of spring training bad( no location at all, no breaking ball) so I am not surprised by the fact of a DL stint. I have watched many Bullpen sessions of his also and he looks healthy. He is just not ready for the season, its not that he is seriously hurt but rather he needs work and with only a week left until opening day there was only one option. Give him the 15 days and he will be ready, don't be surprised to see the same for Prior after WENS. start. Anything Wood and Prior give us is like extra credit, just remember that. Those two won't make or break this team. They could make a good team great but that is about it. If the Cubs are bad they aren't going to make any difference. Lilly,Marquis and Dempster are the ones we must worry about, those three will decide the difference between First Place(if they are good) and Fourth Place( if they pitch normal) in a bad central division.

    get premium, I have it and it looks as close to television as you will get streaming. I use my LCD tv for games just wire in and watch. I also run it on my laptop while I teach at school, looks great, sounds great. Its worth 120 dollars if you are a serious baseball fan
