  1. I don't know. I'm not sure why you'd say take them out... The Yankees and Lakers championships seem like forever ago too. They still count. Plus, right now, Chicago sports are in pretty good, if not great, shape. The Bulls, Bears, and (dare I say) Cubs all could conceivably be playing for their championships at the end of their respective seasons this year (one, obviously, already is)... It doesn't hurt that things aren't looking quite so up for the Sox anymore, either. I don't mean to really "take out" the Bulls championships. I'm just saying they seem like a long time ago and since then it's been the White Sox and that's it. Who's got the 8th championship since '91 anyway? Bulls had 6. White Sox had 1. Cubs, Sox, Bulls, Hawks, Bears----nothing other than those. That's 7, not 8. Are we counting the Rush? Or maybe the Fire? Didn't they win the MLS a couple years back?
  2. In for starting sometime in 2008
  3. There's always someone. Whether it be a Shawn Estes, Neifi Perez, Jose Macias, Rey Ordonez, Glendon Rusch, LaTroy Hawkins, Antonio Alfonseca, as long as I've been at NSBB there has usually be a season long hate affair with one Cub above all others. And so now I'm curious who you think will proudly step up and fill that void this year. I'm voting Marquis.
  4. This feels much better than some PACKER FAN's thread.
  5. Hehe. He's still trying to figure out how in the world the Bears could have stopped his #1 offense 8-) I guess God really didn't ordain that the Saints would win, eh? What do those N.O. tarot-card reading voodoo witches have to say for themselves NOW, eh??? 8-) At least he isn't offering excuses.
  6. The defense shut down the opponents early in those 4 games, before taking big leads and playing prevent with 3rd stringers. Is this the fourth or fifth time in this thread that this point has been made? I forget.... Only two days away. Then this will all stop.
  7. Well hey, there's 2 Pittsburgh teams there...and they're all northeast teams at least. PHILADELPHIA Flyers
  8. This. I don't want to say it, but I sorta feel like people that are fans of teams from all over the place aren't really... as good fans as those that are from the hometown team. I get into this hometown thing really strongly. Conciously thinking about it, I know that people are big fans even when they aren't from a certain place, but it just doesn't feel right to me. I don't want to disrespect anyone, but thats how I feel. EDIT: I don't want people coming in here to defend their fandom, because I know you guys are true fans. But it still don't feel right. It doesn't feel right to me either. I've been a fan of Cubs, Bears, Bulls (I made an exception for the Flyers because I've never really cared that much about hockey and I figured if I'm going to spend a significant amount of my time in Philly, might as well have one team). Not to say he's less of a Cubs fan (cause hes not) but I've always wondered why someone like Truffle likes the Eagles, 76ers (and I'm supposing Flyers) but then is a huge Cubs fan. Why not the Phillies (I'm really curious).
  9. And for those arguing about how "the Saints barely beat the Eagles" or "the Bears barely beat the Bucs", you do realize that using that as an arguement is pretty useless. The beauty of sports being that teams just seem to match up differently each and every single time, rendering those "well you barely beat so and so" a moot point (but if you'd like to play that game, the Saints ALSO only beat the Bucs by three points this season and lost to the lowly Redskins).
  10. Aren't they ripping off the "Who Dey?" of last year's Bengals?
  11. I LOVE YOU REX GROSSMAN!!!!!!!!!
  12. I wish I could be that dumb. Ignorance is bliss I suppose.
  13. I'm here although I don't know how much I'll be posting. I haven't been this nervous since the '03 playoffs.
  14. The other guy called McNair overthrowing his man in the endzone "wisely throwing it into the crowd" as if he was saving the play.
  15. I'm actually really excited for all the games this weekend. I'm obviously rather interested in how the NO-PHI game goes.
  16. We have winners! They're also surprisingly confident that the NFC Championship will be Seahawks @ Eagles. They can dream I suppose.
  17. "You guys are going to killed like 2001" Way more lacking in orginality than that.
  18. So with students slowly coming back here in Philly, I dare anyone to somehow guess the most common insult of the Bears.
