Well I'm leaving on vacation today, and I won't be able to keep updating this thread for those interested, so whoever actually wants to should feel free.
Dear Cobs, I don't post much during games but I just thought I'd let you know that you're facing Micah Owings. That means you're supposed to score runs. Thanks, CT
Well if he pitches his last scheduled Mesa inning tomorrow, I'll assume hes fine. Rotoworld has been keeping a close eye on him for some reason so maybe we'll get an update today.
Yeah I've always been a huge fan of Kerry and am pulling for him bigtime, but I was actually disappointed when I read this story. The 45mph with pain bit and the 4-day 'miracle' recovery bit didn't sound good. I don't believe much in miracles. It seems more likely -- and I think I understand why Fischer wouldn't want to say this publically -- that Kerry is "redlining" his shoulder. One little tweak or pitching with slight fatigue, a different arm slot or something, and he's back to square one. I also think Kerry lost too much weight. He was always stocky but never obese. He looks way too thin now. I hope I'm wrong because Sweet Lou is right: a successful comeback for Kerry would be a huge feel-good story, especially if he's instrumental in helping the Cubs to a playoff berth. I hadn't heard anything about the rotator cuff until that article. Weird.
Yes, I agree. jacque from last year would look mighty good as we near september. I was just thinking the same thing. Still like to see RF upgraded but it would help us a lot.
Wood went 1.0 IP with 1 H 0 R/ER 1 K and 0 BB with 1 GO and 0 FO. He will pitch again on Saturday and then barring any setbacks, is expected to move to Peoria.
