  1. Junior Lake is having himself a day. 3-3 and a triple short of the cycle. BA is up to .317
  2. Hey if Dempster can survive one more go through Blake/Ethier/Kemp he should have himself a quality start for once.
  3. Because of course that's when he strikes out.
  4. Dude is seriously a taller, Turkishier Judge Reinhold.
  5. Realistically, how long before he gets bumped to AA? Well, he was the last cut at Tennessee this spring so he's really close. Probably whenever they're ready to promote Dolis to AAA. Sweet. Thanks. Perfect thru 5.
  6. Realistically, how long before he gets bumped to AA?
  7. And gets 2 in the 2nd.

  9. Assuming his velocity is back after last night's performance, I hope he gets the callup for Tuesday night. We need some serious help in the 4/5 spot right now and he may give us the best chance to bridge the gap until Wells/Cashner come back. i don't. he still might be a pretty good prospect (was adequate last year at age 22 in a hitter's league) and is still overcoming a tired arm or something along those lines. you don't need him coming up with the risk of getting knocked around and losing confidence. just bite the bullet, start coleman and hope the other team hits the ball at our fielders. This. Jay just got back to AAA. At the very least he needs a few more starts.
  10. Uhhhhhhhhhh.... I mean I know it's 9-2 but did he seriously pull Aramis for Colvin with the bases loaded and 1 out?
  11. It's great preparation for when those guys get promoted to Daytona. And then to Wrigley, apparently.
  12. It's Jeff Stevens... fortunately it's jeff stevens. http://i.imgur.com/X3a8u.jpg
  13. Fun Fact: Combined, Coleman and Stevens have thrown 179 pitches in 6 IP.
  14. Not sure I have much confidence in the Cubs' ability to score enough runs to keep up with Coleman today.
  15. I know it isn't. Making money is the point of the playoffs. I'm just saying I don't like seeing wild-card teams get to play for a title every other year just because Bud is desperate to make sure the Yankees and Red Sox are always both in the playoffs. I hate that wild card teams get to play for a title, that's why I don't like this new format that requires them to win an additional series in order to get there? The argument could be made though that if the other teams were so good, they'd beat the wild-card team I guess I just never understood this "Wild Card teams in the World Series are bad" notion. Wild card teams have won championships in the NFL, NBA, and NHL. Why is it so terrible when it happens in baseball? I've never understood this either. What's the problem? Half the point of the playoffs is to give the underdog a shot

I'm just saying I don't like seeing wild-card teams get to play for a title every other year just because Bud is desperate to make sure the Yankees and Red Sox are always both in the playoffs. It would also give smaller market teams a chance as well. Look at last season. Yes it would let the Sox in, but the Padres would have gone in on the NL side.
  17. Not shocking or earth-shattering, but interesting nonetheless. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/baseball/mlb/04/21/expanded.playoffs.ap/index.html?eref=sihp
  18. Also, what is up with this NBATV only crap?
