  1. Some new Boise Hawks today...

  3. That's an absurd oversimplification, but sure. Really? Your argument was: Dodgers spent money, Pundits typed at keyboards, therefore Dodgers are more likely to be correct. I fail to see the absurd oversimplification.
  4. Someone was wrong, either the pundit comments or the Cubs. Given that the Cubs are betting $136 million and the pundits were betting the energy it took to post a blog entry (is that what they were doing in 2007?), I'll assume the Cubs were closer to right. /smartass Teams sometimes have dumb people running them. The Dodgers have a really dumb guy running them. There's a difference in orders of magnitude here. If the pundits were saying Puig was a $20 million dollar prospect and he got $42 million, then maybe the Dodgers are just idiots. The Cubs paid a $90 million player $136 million. The reports on Puig implied he wouldn't be worth a tenth of what he ended up getting. You can't reconcile that with just "well, maybe the Dodgers are dumb." You do realize your logic still boils down to "the Dodgers spent a lot of money, therefore they are most likely correct", right?
  5. Adrian is 21. Numbers from the DSL last season didn't really pop out. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=P&sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=608584 Boise's PBP guy hinted at some promotions from Mesa today. Vogelbach, please.
  6. Will TODAY be the day Concepcion achieves more strikeouts than walks? That would be more momentous than the Supreme Court ruling.
  7. Apparently. Seriously, is Puig even going to crack their Top 10?
  8. Dodgers just gave him $40 million. Now THAT'S insane.

  10. Vitters with an RBI double
  11. Gameday makes it seem like the strike zone is crazy small today.
  12. It would appear that is in fact the case.
  13. Caught this on Twitter: Hopefully they can get him to Arizona/Boise/Peoria
  14. Vogelbach with a walk. Get excited, everybody.
  15. Even though he's still pretty much a non-prospect in my eyes, I'd like to see Burgess in Iowa next year.
  16. Also, thanks for your opinions everyone. Much appreciated!
  17. Christ, KJax. Got an especially early start today. He makes me irrationally mad at this point.
  18. Random question for you all: if you could subscribe to either Baseball America or Baseball Prospectus, which would you subscribe to?
  19. A few more days of production and he'll have two straight months of over .900 ops. Tough to just call it a hot streak at this point. Doubters! :) you mean cumulatively? his OPS in may was .884 (.284/.333/.550/.884) Yep, cumulatively. He's pretty close after the hr today. Even if he comes up a bit short of .900 for the two months, it'll still be tough to just say he's in a hot streak. do players like him move back into the top 100 after they've fallen out? I'd imagine they certainly can when they're only 22
