    Pretty much. Sucks thinking you're going to get a shiny new toy and it doesn't happen, but we've known all along that this wasn't the direction this train was headed. Still would have been an amazing return for Marmol. What does that even mean? What direction?

    If that was the case, I doubt we would hear it from Theo. I can't imagine him making public comments about a player's medical reports. They'd leak it through the media. Theo wouldn't say that on record. I feel like even that would be a huge no-no. Players would be a lot more hesitant to be involved with the Cubs and understandably so.

    You have no way of knowing if the leak actually damaged the chances of the trade happening. In fact, I'd say it's far more likely that it was irrelevant.

    I don't see why any of that is true. Teams pull out of trades when an agreement can't be reached literally the vast majority of the time. This leaked because Marmol was asked if he'd waive his NTC and then blabbed to the media about it. That doesn't mean anything was agreed on or done. Except a lot of people with reasonably good track records were saying it was done in principle even beyond that. So what? Do you really think Theo/Jed just frivolously pulled out of a solid trade for no reason?

    Didn't realize the trade deadline was so soon, although it's apparently been pushed back to Thursday at 4 EST. I'm trying to remember but I feel like the Bears rarely if ever do much at the deadline. Is this actually the case?

    The Bears miss Jeffrey more then I thought they would. We have no other outside threats and our TE situation is horrible. Like somebody mentioned earlier, their horrible play calling will probably doom them at some point this year. Their horrible play-calling will doom them every game this year and the fact that lovie is their head coqch will doom them twice Come now, they're at least triple doomed.
