  1. Yes, when the Mariners came to town they were riding a 5 game winning streak and very confident. The are better than the Royals.
  2. As soon as the cubs do... The Rockies are a hell of a lot more formidable than the Astros. And the Tigers and Twins are a lot more formidable than the White Sox. I don't see what there is to complain about. The only quality pitcher they faced in that span was Verlander (and we all know what happened then).
  3. As soon as the cubs do... head 2 head coming...
  4. Friday! The Cubs are 5-3 against the Brewers. I'd love a 9 game winning streak.
  5. they should have won 3-2
  6. Heading to the top of the 9th in MIL. I'm still upset that the Astros gave up a run earlier (by not getting the second out at 1B and allowing the runner at 2nd to get to 3B and score on a sac fly). :x get some runs 3-3 tie
  7. lee doubles after that. The Astros should be leading 3-2. They surrendered a gift run in the last half inning.
  8. The Score reports that Aramis is getting the day off, from starting at least, and DeRosa is at 3B. I wonder if that means Fontenot at 2B and Theriot at SS?
  9. Keep in mind, that this deal is in principle and has not been finalized (The Score keeps throwing in the caveat).
  10. It's not odd when you consider that Williams wasn't going to get anything near his value on the trade market (because he's a potential FA). Plus, the Sox have to field a more competitive team next year to survive in a Cubs town. The attendance at the Cell is down dramatically. They can't afford to count on prospects. I also think this is a nod to their fan base; many of whom have been upset with the Buehrle trade talks because the Sox were refusing to offer more than a 3 year extension. Buehrle is one of the jewels to emerge from their MiLs (as much as Zambrano is for the Cubs).
  11. I'm not sure who he is but The Score is reporting that he and the Sox have agreed, in principle, to a 4 years/$50MM deal.
  12. WHAT THE HECK....Cubs are playing as good as they possibly can here in this stretch and all-be-dammed the brewers are the 1927 yankees all of a sudden.....i almost wish they never would have been no hit by verlander they are facing absolute crap pitching ever since then. I think the toughest pitcher they have faced has been Bannister of KC. QFT
  13. I think it's an indictment of the Astros pitching staff.
  14. You just now figured this out? I knew they were bad but I hadn't been watching closely. i guess i shouldn't have felt safe with them having a lead...i mean brad lidge and dan wheeler are still in their bullpen Everytime I've seen Wheeler, recently, he's been giving up a lead. Rich White looks very hittable.

  16. They need real competition
  17. The Astros are not ML
