  1. WoW, what a nice DP by the Bucs
  2. He looks good but he's only been up since May 24th, or there abouts. Let's see how Braun looks after going around the League a few times. Rickie Weeks has, seemingly, fallen off the map since last year (and I don't think it's all injury related). people are already crowning Braun as the next (if not better than ) David Wright We'll see. Time will tell.

  4. Doumit 2 run homer ties the game at 3 in Pitt
  5. If Snell is on his game he isn't going to give up much more (if anymore). Vargas on the other hand can be had. Go Pirates
  6. In the overall scheme of things yes, it's one less game on the calendar but if the Brewers lose, or are rained out, it's status quo for now in the division. Who knows about the WC? A lot of things woud have to happen there to prevent a loss of ground. if its rained out we lose a half game Yeah, that's true... I was thinking full games. It is what it is, we knew they weren't going to win every game. It'd be nice if the Pirates win the next 2 games with their 2 best pitchers.

  8. Exactly! They were shutout so the score really doesn't matter. Hopefully, they have better luck against the righty tomorrow and win the series.
  9. Koyie batting RH out 5-3 this one is finally over.
  10. but look how well the pitchers (hill especially!) have thrown since the trade. If we're going to draw conclusions about results since that trade, then it's important to add that the Cubs are 10-3 since it was completed. and they're doing it in spite of the catchers (see the sub .100 average) not because of them. That's not completely true. Koyie was instrumental in the comeback against the Rockies and Bowen also got his lone hit to benefit a win. He's also walked 4 times and has 2 RBI... Anyway, the Cubs knew what they were getting with them. There's no guarantee that Barrett would have provided offense during that same period (if he were still with the club). He has 8 hits and 2 RBI since joining the Padres.
  11. Eyre in the mix... you know it's a blow out when...
  12. blah, they'll shake it off. Go Pirates Go Ian Snell

  14. Chico pitched 6 shutout innings in his last start. He's a rookie who has been inconsistent but he's better than his overall numbers show to this point. I am not surprised that he pitched well. I predicted it. groovy...do you want a cookie? I'm just saying you have to look at the pitcher individually and not assume that he's bad because he's a National. Jason Bergmann won't be a piece of cake tomorrow if he pitches to form.

I predicted it. Yeah, this is 5 out of 6 quality starts for Chico, and he has only given up 1 run in his last 19 innings. Exactly. He has been pitching well. The key was to keep their offense down today; the Nats lost Chico's last start after he left the game.
  16. Izzy at SS, Riot at 2B Izturis hitting 9th leading off the next inning
