  1. LOL, so it could have been a lot worse? Lou must have a lot of faith in his guys.
  2. DLee has one career hit at RFK. He needs a night off (the slump there maybe partially psychological).
  3. Hmmm, upon closer inspection, Bergmann has been extremely unlucky. After his first loss to the Cubs on May 4th, he was 0-3 with a 3.34 ERA. Now the dude is 1-5 with a 3.47 ERA. kick him while he's down. Marshall better be good tonight.
  4. Ryan solo shot 4-3 AZ Looks like Livan set them off. Let's see if he can cool them off as well.
  5. Duncan with a solo shot. 4-2 AZ
  6. Livan Hernandez just hit a 2 run homer to increase his lead over the Cards. 4-1 AZ He gave them a bat flip and a sideways homerun trot too.
  7. I read that Z will start the first game after the Break only if he doesn't pitch in the All Star game (assuming he's voted in). Otherwise, Marquis will start the first game followed by a lefty "most likely Lilly" followed by Zambrano in the third game.
  8. I posted this in the gamethread: I think some of it is flukey. The Cubs are near the bottom both in facing LHP and production against LHP. Plus, they faced some hot pitching lefties like Chico today (0 R), Capuano (2 R) before he got hurt, Buehrle (2 R, in a victory), Hamels (2 R), and Gorzelanny (1 R, in a victory). Conversely, they scored 6 against Jeff Francis. 20+ ABs vs. LHP: Ram .370 DLee .321 Sori .290 DeRo .286 Riot .286 Fonty .286 Angel .224 Jones .200 Izzy .182 Pie .125 Others: Barrett .262 42 ABs Cliff .250 16 ABs Hank .067 15 ABs Bowen .000 11 ABs Everyone else has less than 10 at-bats versus LHP.

They face 2 lefties in the next series so let's hope they can break through.
  10. Brewers lose! 5-3 Pirates Cubs remain 5.5 back
  11. Matt Capps in to save the gave for the Pirates
  12. Snell with 8 strong innings. Strikes out Fielder. He's over 100 pitches
  13. Yeah, I hear ya. I hope Snell holds on here and Gorzelanny out duels Sheets (which is very possible) tomorrow.
  14. The Brewers are not the juggernaut that many make them out to be. They make a lot of mistakes but their hitting has covered up many of the problems. However, they are exposed when they come up against good pitching (because they aren't fundamentally sound to hang in many low scoring games).
  15. That's pretty much the sentiment of their broadcast on MLB.TV... I guess they figure if the Brewers can come out of no where and lead the division so can they... Their fans want improvement. This singer is horrible. :x
  16. LaRoche 2 run bomb Pirates up 5-3
