  1. Note that the Cubs didn't give up more than 3 runs in any of those games. Probably the most important thing those games have in common. Hey Brewers, you don't want to lose the division? Don't go below .500 two straight months is a great way to start. And don't blow 13 three-run-plus leads to lose the game. No sympathy from here. Someone needs to tell Brewer fan that talent alone doesn't win championships. It's also about heart and character.
  2. Let's go Bravos!!! And Cubbies, let's have a great weekend at Wrigley!!!
  3. App St. is probably the best team in 1AA, but yeah it is still a surprise. Appy State's WR, Jackson, is the best player in this game.
  4. Tonight starts what I consider to be the fast and furious finish. With the Cardinals charging, it's time to step up and close the door! The last month of the regular season in the middle of a serious championship run and college football about to kick off this week - it's almost too much for me to digest, but I'm going to give it a shot nonetheless!!!
  5. The umps should be embarrassed. No warning before the game and then he arbitrarily kicks Lilly out? Pathetic.
  6. I guess he'll go to rehab like all of the other celebs. That seems to be the "flavor of the day".
  7. I love college baseball as well. I go to a lot of Alabama and Troy games. I'm heading down to Troy, Alabama, next weekend for the Troy/Arkansas series. Then in April, baseball is in full force with the MLB and with the minor leagues. We have the Montgomery Biscuits here in my hometown and we're the defending Class AA Southern League Champs. My wife's family lives in Prattville! I love the Biscuts stadium and some great talent has come through there. I'll be down to watch the Smokies (Cubs AA) this summer. Good 'ol Prattville! Prattville will soon be a big city at the rate folks from Montgomery are moving up there. Heck, I might not be far behind. The Biscuits' stadium is awesome. It was recently voted the top professional baseball venue in all of minor league/major league baseball by gentleman who visited every park in America in 2006. http://www.biscuitsbaseball.com/pressreleases/102706.html
  8. Who will likely be the starting four pitchers when the season opens? As always, I'm worried about pitching. Of course the key is oftentimes the relief guys but starting pitching hasn't been very consistent for a number of reasons lately.
  9. College football is my favorite sport to watch live being from Alabama. Nothing I've ever experienced comes close to a Saturday night in an SEC football stadium like Neyland Stadium in Knoxville with 107,000+ fans with "Rocky Top" blaring at full force, or inside Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge with the deafening roar of 92,000+ LSU fans. Naturally, I'm partial to Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa where we also pack in over 92,000 fans for every home game. The NBA is a league that I used to really like, but after Jordan's era ended in Chicago, the NBA hasn't been the same. It's hard for me to watch a game from start to finish now. College basketball is much more exciting - it's really not even close.

  11. I'm ready for April to get here as well. Even though I'm in Alabama, it's cold and depressing down here also. I'm planning on making a trip to Chi-Town for the series at Wrigley against the Reds the weekend of April 14th. 1. Welcome to the forum. Look forward to talking baseball with you. 2. What do you mean, "cold"? Right now it is 0 degrees outside with a 25 mph sustained wind (35 mph gusts) resulting in a windchill of -23. Thanks for the welcome. I'm glad that I found this great site. I'm a lifelong Cubs fan. I've not yet been to Wrigley for a game but I was at Game 1 of the NLDS in Atlanta in 2003 when Kerry Wood had the dominating performance on the mound and a big night at the plate. It was awesome and literally half or more of Turner Field was filled with Cubs fans. There are a lot of Cubs fans in the South even though the Braves still have a lot of bandwagon fans hanging around.

What's cold in Alabama? :D Anything below 50 is cold for me!!! I bet it'll be in the 40's for the early season games at Wrigley?
