Uggla will be the most hated man in Chicago (NS), New York (Mets), Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Miami, St Louis, Phoenix, and Los Angeles (Dodgers). Those are the home cities of the 8 teams with the most legit shot at reaching the playoffs, thus with a shot at the WS too. i really don't think any of those teams' fans will remember or care about what uggla did in the all-star game. The vast majority may do so, but I will when I'm sitting there thinking in October, "Why do the Cubs have to start the WS on the road, when they have a X-amount of games better record than the AL team? Oh, yeah. We got Uggla'd".

Only 1 of the 4 games has any direct impact on the Cubs tonight, although the Mets* do play in Cincy tonight (*possibly playoff team). Fathers (Peavy) @ Redbirds (Lohse) - 7:15p CST [game on D*, on either FSN MW/HD (ch 647/647-1) or MLB EI (SanDiego feed, SD/HD; ch 726/726-1)]

My "All Star Game Fix Its" solutions, if going to keep this idiotic mentality of "IT COUNTS!" towards the ASG: - Allow position players to re-enter if comes a time that all available players have been used before the end of the game, especially in extra inning contests [Dan Uggla, Christian Guzman, Cory Hart, Ryan Ludwick, etc getting 4 or 5 ABs in an ASG??] - That or expand the rosters so won't run out after 10 innings - Expand the pitching rosters to avoid running out in extra inning contests - Make the coaches actually use their brain, and stop trotting guys out when they obviously are killing their side's chances of winning [ie, Hurdle and Uggla]; yeah, I know, didn't have a choice because of no players available to replace him with, but still - But first and foremost, remove the "winning side gets WS HFA" rule and make it so that the team with the best record at the end gets HFA

And after all that, now we gotta wait until Friday evening until the next Cubs game.......... ugh.

After a game like this, and since the new "HFA" rule was put in... and no, not because the NL lost... I agree with the person who said just skip the whole deal and give everyone 4-5 days off. And re-instate & keep the "best record gets HFA" rule.

What was more memorable of this gathering, however you look at the spectrum.... Hamilton's 28 HRs in one round, or that?? I hate Uggla for possibly costing us HFA (if the Cubs win the NL pennant), but in the end... gotta feel for the guy a little bit. On a big stage like that and you post that line?? :oops:

YAY Cubs (other than Soto and Fukudome), Matt Holliday, Miguel Tejada, & Nate McClouth. BOO rest of NL!!!! Cook says hi. tell him I said "what's up" Russel Martin certainly didn't play poorly. Alrght, alright, there were others... those were the ones who most stuck out in my mind. Right, though, Martin did very well defensively tonight.
