  1. Perfect, following the script perfectly. We get a runner to 3rd, with less than 2 outs, fail to score. Now Astros will score at least 1 right after. :x
  2. I knew it was a mistake to get emotionally involved with this team again.......... same as always, just when you start to really care/get optimistic... they pull the rug right out from under ya!
  3. He didn't die on third, but still didn't score. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiice. 0-22 in AB's with RISP, in this series. That's a historic-like horrible stat.
  4. Please make me look like an idiot here, Murty!!!
  5. DeRo will die on 3rd, with just 1 out... calling it.
  6. DeRo now 8 of last 15 vs Oswalt, and Jones is hitting 2nd?? Err, ok.
  7. Right wrist soreness for ARam... if that lingers and keeps him out of the lineup... we are sooooooooo in trouble. Jim, do something, please!!!
  8. I don't condone the "no moves made at the deadline" action by Hendry and the Cubs - I reallllly wanted Griffey... but at the same time, Soriano's (& now ARam?) injury couldn't be predicted. Does that mean we should have lost all of the last 3, of course not, but at the same time... we did very well for a few days following the non-waiver deadline. The luck just went south.
  9. Jones hitting 2nd and Floyd cleaning up (yes, even after the late scratch of Ramirez from the lineup)... I think Lou's "gone round the twist".
  10. Great, so we could have NO legit power bats heading to Colorado... that is just sooooooooo awesome!!!
  11. Something about Ramirez out, DeRosa to 3rd, and Fontenot in at 2nd??
  12. Jones doesn't make an out right away!
  13. .287 .242 .323 .313 Man Jones sticks out like a sore thumb in the 2-hole.
  14. Just remember, everyone, that even if we lose our 4th in a row, no ground can be lost (in the Central). *runs off and bangs head repeatedly against a wall for allowing such complacency to enter my thoughts* Alas, we're falling behind in the WC race. Three games back at the moment. I will be yelled at - maybe deservedly so - but where the offense is right now, and no Soriano until at least Labor Day, the Central Pennant should be our lone focus. We're batting 5-6 teams for the WC, 3-4 are ahead of us currently, & another tied w/ us. So, IMHO, its "Central Pennant or bust" for our playoff hopes this season.
  15. I do agree with the complaints of Jones batting 2nd though. Not exactly sure about Lou's reasoning behind it, but you got a guy who's batting 15-36 vs Oswalt in his lifetime (Kendall), who's not even in the lineup at all, vs a guy who's 4-16 vs RoyO hitting 2nd. He's definitely not playing the "hitter vs pitcher" percentages with this lineup. If he is... he needs to get himself checked.

  17. Apparently Gallardo and the Brewers BP didn't get this memo.
  18. My semi-silly guess is ... Theriot, SS Fontenot, 2B Lee, 1B ARam, 3B Floyd, RF DeRosa, LF Jones, CF Kendall, C Big Z, P
  19. On a side note of Colorado butt-whipping of the Brew Crew today... they are now a .5 game ahead of us in the WC. But, IMO, that matters little... its Central Pennant or nothing for us this year, I think/believe/I'm afraid.
  20. I feel absolutely horrible for feeling this way, but is it really so bad to know/think that if the unthinkable happens for the 4th straight time tonight... we'll still keep on the "1 GB" pace?? Make me regret even bringing it up, Cubs, and W.I.N!!!!!!!!!
  21. Rocks couldn't get to 20. LOSERS!! :x
  22. 1 run in 2 innings. Rocks are slumping!
  23. I just said that the other day, kinda, to a coworker. "You watch, now that the Cubs/Brewers are "even", they're gonna fight it out to win the Central, but the Cards are back their lurking. The Cubs & Brewers will go back and forth with each other, and StL will end up winning the damn thing."
  24. No hits or runs that inning for Colorado, 1-2-3 in fact. Damn they suck. :P
  25. And 29 hits over that same span. An average of just under 4 runs and just over 4 hits per inning, since the 6th inning of last nights game.
