Phew, too many pitches, but at least he stopped leaving the ball up to the last couple of hitters. Hopefully he settles down from here. Also, Jack Daniels goes well with Cubs playoff games.

Given the board dynamics of game threads relative to "social" threads, I feel like the presidential debates should be in the other games category today. Live event that a good portion of the board is watching = same as other games, IMO.

I guess none of these wins matter, but I'm hoping to see #97 so at least I can watch a team with more wins than any in my lifetime enter the playoffs. Totally arbitrary, but I guess there is still something to that for me.

You know, for how consistently well this team has played this year, with really only one bad stretch to speak of, I can't believe that it will be nearly impossible to pull off 100 wins. Makes me really respect how hard it is to do that. And for the teams that did it with some consistency (Braves of the 1990s - early 2000s, As of the late 70s), I have to respect that accomplishment even more.

Win #96. For some reason, knowing that you will finish at least 30 games over .500 means something to me. Probably because I have only seen that threshold crossed in one other season over 20 years ago.
