  1. On the HBO special with Lou and ARod, Lou was filmed saying that Murton is either a 2 or an 8 hole hitter (while watching him in bp).
  2. What's wrong with you foo!! You should always enjoy watching "the Z". "The Z" is pure entertainment. Carlos Zambrano says so. Plus you never know when he'll break a bat over his knee. You wouldn't want to miss that, would ya? I always enjoy watching a man talk to himself. Good times.
  3. I'd rather have Jones instead of Ichiro. One can slug and the other can get on base. It'd just be a tradeoff in skills and isn't worth the difference in salaries. Jones plays RF very well and his throwing has supposedly gotten a lot better this year (unannounced shoulder injury last season). I can't see why the Cubs would want to swap Jones for Ichiro in RF just considering the money aspect. And they'd have to pay in prospects to get Ichiro. No thanks.
  4. I will say what I have said about Angel for the last 4 years. If he is physically able to pitch, he will do it well. Easily the most talented arm to come thru the Cubs system since Zambrano. I agree. Why is he hurt so often? He doesn't like to stay hydrated.
  5. Would we have to put our noses in the corner? ...because I find that totally degrading.
  6. Check the Bears thread-the Bears only moved up in the second round from #63 to #37, they didn't actually get an extra second rounder. And the hits just keep on comin'...
  7. I'm a little upset we didn't get more for Jones.
  8. If Prior topped out at 89 mph that's good news. That's more in line with the previous reports that his velo was down "a little" during his batting practice session. That 83-85 mph news scared me, b/c there's no way he'd have been rushing it above 90 mph regularly come April. * And a second round pick for Jones? C'mon. :x
  9. It could have been underhanded. LOL could be..Have you seen this one http://www.theheckler.com/news/templates/?a=675&z=1
  10. It could have been underhanded. He was not throwing baseballs...he was throwing towels. Wet towels at that. There's no reason to worry.
  11. It's called PASSION! No it's called overreacting/total lack of baseball perspective. It's spring training, and means little. Particularly, for a pitcher injured for the majority of 2 years. As long as has normal soreness, and isn't hurt, today was a good day. If he's throwing 85 at the end of ST, then worry. It's part of the fan base. Go to Boston and NY message board and you'll get the same thing...Cubs fans are passionate. Passion is fine. Thinking the man is done pitching after 40 pitches in his first ST game in 2 years after 2 years of being away with injuries, is a little different than passion. I love this team with tons of passion. I'm just not going to meltdown due to one bad outing by Prior. Let's see how he progresses through ST. Get over yourself. It's not one bad outing. His injury history is ridiculous and it's more than reasonable to be severely skeptical at this point. I don't think Prior is done, but people could have legitimately come to that conclusion way before today.
  12. I like your optimism, keep up the positive thinking. Myself, I'll give him more than 30 pitches before making a snap judgment. He threw 40 Owned.
  13. It's called PASSION! no, it's called overreacting Worry about your own, Mary Ann.
