  1. Dang it. Fine AB by Jacque other than missing that last pitch. It's like everyone took their patience pill after Lou came to town.
  2. I wonder how many times the boombox bandit will strike Sosa out in that series.
  3. Dang. Well, I hope it gets better soon.
  4. Barrett isn't having a great day so far.
  5. Pitch 1 from Lilly is a ball right down the middle of the strikezone according to Gameday.
  6. Jones batting 2nd. Whelp, here we go...
  7. Thank! I've been looking for the damn thing for the past 20 min! I swear MLB.COM is setup terribly. No doubt. Whoever does their website design is on crack. Well, I hope they're on crack b/c I refuse to believe a human being can be paid to be that dumb. nevermind, i just read the most recent Mariotti article.
  8. How does Mariotti even have a job? Yeah, trade Prior while his value is ridiculously low. Brilliant insight. Nice work as far as completely unnecessary hit jobs go...
  9. That made me laugh quite a bit. "Whatever you do, don't feed 'em. They never go away if you do."
  10. I'm starting to think LaRussa and Duncan could take a random bum sleeping on the street and at bare minimum, turn them into a decent middle reliever. God do I hate the Cardinals (BTW: a coworker in the St. Louis branch of my company says the Cardinals are spending a couple of million dollars to further upgrade Busch stadium. More escalators, even larger scoreboard, more bathrooms, larger pressbox and more decorations. Plus they'll have signs plastered all over saying "World Series Champs") *sigh* I can confirm this...those damn signs are going up as we speak... Can you confirm whether or not these signs are in the urinals?
  11. The smart thing for the Cubs to do is stick Gooz and Prior in AAA with Miller in the ML starting rotation to start the season. Hendry built up starting pitching depth for a reason. Getting rid of Miller because he won't accept a 'pen role or an assignment to the minors isn't the safest route. It's a long season and we'll probably need this newfound pitching depth at some point. My personal favorite is Guzman, so I certainly won't cry if the Cubs decide to go the less conservative route. This is a really good problem to have, IMO.
  12. Well, there's an example of how not to pitch in the 9th. :(
  13. At this point I don't even want him back next season. I empathized with his situation going into the offseason, but so far he's handled it without class. If I publicly roasted my employer like that, I'd get fired.
  14. I hope Lou kidnaps Quentin at the end of today's game.
  15. My gift to all of thee: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/y2006/gd.html?2007_03_13_chnmlb_arimlb_1&brand=mlb
  16. Really? PECOTA projects Pie to be worth 2 wins more than Jones this year. Does Pecota add a platoon partner for Jones? Probably not.. Who's his platoon partner for the Cubs? DeRosa and Theriot. Has Lou stated that he'll platoon Jacque? I haven't seen anything to that effect. If Derosa and Jones were platooning in RF, that would be great, but Derosa is going to be the fulltime 2B this year, isn't he? And if Jacque needs a platoon partner, so does Mark. Supposedly (Rosenthal) we're looking for another backup MIF so the Cubs can play Izzy, Theriot (2B/RF), and DeRosa (RF/2B) in the same lineup. I haven't heard Lou say anything about a platoon in RF.
