he overthrew the cut-off man once. on a basehit to right he also sort of hesitated before throwing the ball, but made a good throw and nothing bad came of it. wow, i wish he were dead. Why are you letting him off so easy?

Gotta ask, which side of the CyHawk series are you rooting for? :lol: I am a Hawkeye fan at heart (since I was a kid). Went to undergrad at ISU, ;law school at U of I. I am a HUGE Kirk Ferentz fan.....Alford.....not so much. Am very interested in seeing what Chizik does in Ames--still shocked they got him to come up from Austin... Like Ferentz and hate Alford? Sounds like just about everyone else in Iowa City. :lol: Anyway, nice play by Wuertz to get the lead runner. Alford is a d-bag...I've spoken w/ him numerous times. Favorite Hawk's coach of all time is & always will be Gable--drank w/ him on several occasions when I was in law school.. I've gotta ask, why'd you end up at ISU for undergrad?

Hamels control looks shaky and we're really not making him pay at all.

Theriot is the opposite of Cedeno and Soriano. He has almost no actual talent, but has a tremendous plate approach.

Soriano did the same thing we sending him to AAA? maybe just a slight difference in talent level. I understand that but I dont here anybody else saying Soriano was stupid for swinging. You cant have it both ways Of course you can. Talented players always get more leeway in sports. That is how it works. Uh, so Soriano wasn't stupid for swinging at the first pitch? He certainly was in my mind. Actually, I've constantly said Soriano has one of the worst plate approaches I've ever seen. Doesn't make him not good, but he certainly doesn't have much of a baseball IQ. But that isn't the argument..the argument is calling for a player to be sent to AAA. You are not going to send Sori to AAA, however, Cedeno will be in DesMoine shorly if he does get his head out of his arse. Cedeno's skills aside, I don't think we can send him down, realistically. Who else is going to take that role on the team? The only adequate shortstop on the team is Theirot and he needs some days off.
