    Unless there's some kind of scenario I'm completely unaware of, the magic number could only go to 2 after tonight.

    Wasn't it 7 games left? Whichever, its still not much of a lead compared to a 3.5 with 6/7 to go. Honestly, I don't see why it matters that it was a 3.5 game lead with 6/7 to go. Fact is, it's a 2 game lead with 5 to go. It's still a pretty big number, but what it was at the start of the week has no bearing on the Crew's chances.

    Everybody needs to stop freaking out. If I gave you the choice four days ago that the Cubs would take 3 out of 4 from the upcoming four lefties, I guarantee you everybody here would take that. Not freaking out, but things do change rather drastically if the Crew gets to only 1 game back. Exactly. I'm not freaking out. We just really need to win tonight (and I think we will).     The Cubs just got beat by a vastly inferior Marlins team despite the fact it looked to be a huge pitching matchup. Anything can (and often will) happen. If we win our game and the Brewers win there's, the race is all but over.

    God I wish I had no doubt we were gonna make it, this would be such an blissfully non-stressful week.

    You know, if the Brewers get to one game back tonight, it's pretty damn realistic that they'll take the division outright. The Padres are faltering, so it's compltely within the realm of possibilities that the Padres take all four games against them. If we were to win the final game of the Florida series and then 2 of 3 against Cincinnati, that wouldn't get it done.

    This is kind of a must win game, and I expect the Cubs to come through. Hopefully The Cardinals can do their part and maybe, just maybe, we'll be three games up by this time tomorrow.
