  1. It's amazing to me that Chelsea for several years now has looked like they have never played together when they attack. Even coach changes don't seem to change anything. I have to conclude they just keep signing players who don't understand space, angles, and off the ball movement.
  2. while the sarcasm is running, can't wait for the all-Milan semi!
  3. Is there a way to opt out of these? Not really any harm but completely pointless.
  4. Dortmund contriving to drop points spotted a 2-0 lead and an extra player is just so . . . Dortmund. Gio seems to score every time he is out there yet he can barely get off the bench. Chance to get back even and they draw with a team in the relegation battle.
  5. right. I am more excited about the Kings and could see like GS and Lakers fans having some enthusiasm
  6. this is an issue with the nba for me - the better team is usually clear and they generally win in the playoffs. I know, there are big upsets periodically but does anyone really believe the bulls can go on a run if they win today? So, to generate any excitement for this game, one has to believe they are an up and coming team and be excited about how far they can get without ever really believing they have a chance to win it all.
  7. Ruben Dias was so good. Unlike last year, City looked like they knew how to defend. Maybe changing coaches two weeks before the game wasn't such a great idea?
  8. setting a bunch of over/unders would be fun . . . someone else do it!
  9. what were sammy's contact rate changes in april and may 1998? IIRC, he was hitting over .300 but the home runs didn't really explode until June (20!).
  10. There is a lot of luck involved but better players are still more likely to win than not as good players.
  11. so, we have to request to see the social forum?
  12. why, when I go to the next page does it load to the bottom of the page? Makes no sense.
  13. Frankly, I'll take a second rebuild for the world series. The flame out of that team's stars was a bit unpredictable. Sustained success without a world series isn't really that great when your team hasn't won one in your lifetime
  14. My English Chelsea fan friend was pretty happy about this. He sees it as a lost season and this is buying time to get a better long-term selection. I, like you, think it's a bit ridiculous
  15. that could be a survival battle . . . would be fun if winner stays up, loser goes down and tie both go down
  16. for fun projections - a good number of 6 pointers in there . . . Leeds 36 Everton 34 Bournemouth 34 Forest 33 Leicester 33 Southampton 27
  17. I think Everton will stay up personally. I haven't really looked at remaining schedule though as that's probably the biggest factor. Just seems like three of Southampton, Forest, Bournemouth and Leicester go down.
  18. Perfect day for Leeds. Still need 7-10 points to stay up in all likelihood. USMNT's best attacking player can't get on the pitch for a team that can't score. I wonder if Chelsea can find a coach who can build an actual attack? Meanwhile, the Tuchel honeymoon ends dramatically . . .
  19. A hot dog is not a sandwich. You could make an argument for a hot dog in a bun, however.
  20. Isn't that tomorrow? Hold your optimism!
  21. I interviewed in Santa Ana back in the day - the company folks were flabbergasted that I had walked from the hotel.
  22. I don't think walking is actually legal in the OC, is it?
  23. I imagine after 69 years no one cares that it was a friendly! Highly entertaining game!
  24. Great. Now he won't sign up for the US because they brought him to Orlando and it was 86 in March. Sure it's nice and humid too!
