  1. Don't lie, you have fun doing that regardless.
  2. Fixed. our offense is good enough. maholm just needs his zone shrunk a bit. ah, we should have put a lefty out there and told him to throw it 10 inches off the plate. It is good enough on paper, hasn't translated to the field sadly.
  3. Getting lost in the shuffle of Z's bad performance is the pathetic 1 run the worthless offense has put up. Just sad.
  4. No. Z should be traded by the deadline for the best prospects offered.
  5. Bay would look nice as our RF. Zambrano 4 Bay st8 up!
  6. Cubs need to follow the Marlins model. Pitchers are perishable items, get what you can and trade them for good young prospects.
  7. No, not really. He's having to learn the position on the fly, he will make mistakes. I don't see how he's learning on the fly? If you're an OF and have played the game for any length of time you have seen flyballs coming at every position from just about every angle. He's probably caught hundreds of those type of flyballs in his lifetime. He just screwed up and dropped a ball that he should have caught. Agreed. There is no excuse for Murton's gargabe play today, he needs to figure it out, fast.
  8. Leave Murton alone, he is a nice boy with red hair.
  9. Wolf-7 GS, 41 IP, 44 H, 44K/13BB, 4 HBP, 6 HR, 4.61 ERA, 1.39 WHIP Padilla-7 GS, 42 IP, 40 H, 17K/21BB, 3 HBP, 8 HR, 4.93 ERA, 1.452 WHIP Of course a lot of people wanted Schmidt+ rookie-that wouldn't have worked out too well. Also, here's one more pitcher that was wanted over the offseason: Westbrook-6 GS, 27 1/3 IP, 32 H, 18 K/14 BB, 1 HBP, 6 HR, 7.90 ERA, 1.683 WHIP Not to mention, Westbrook has also been placed on the DL. Hendry and Rothschild are looking like friggin' geniuses right now...right now. This team is 1 game over 500 with one of the top payrolls in baseball. Lets not get carried away. I'll make you a deal, I won't get carried away if you look at the context of the comments you respond to. Look at the thread you are in. It is in reference to the signing of Marquis and not those other guys. So, right now, he is looking like a friggin' genius. Right now. If you throw enough darts, you are bound to hit bullseye at some point.
  10. Pagan can hit right handed, jacque and pie can't ummm Pagan can't hit lefties.
  11. Pagan probably will start 1-2 games a week-that's about the average amount of times the team should face a left-hander, and Pagan was brought up to play against LHP. That makes no sense...Pagan was terrible vs LHP last season. So is Jones, and so is Pie. It's not a great option, but it will hopefully be a small improvement, and Pagan has been good against LHP so far this year in the minors. The thing that seperates those 3 is that Felix Pie is your best defender. Felix Pie is your CF of the future. Felix Pie should get the chance to be your everyday CF until he proves otherwise. Is there really anything we've seen from him this year to say he deserves the chance? I sure havent seen anything where i am all up in arms that he isnt the regular CF. I know he hasnt had regular time but still i havent been 'wowed' yet to say..you are my starting CF for a playoff contender. Defensively he has been brilliant. As for at the plate, 49 AB's is impossible to get reading on a guy.
  12. But he is starting today. And will probably start many more games vs LHP.
  13. Pie should have never been on the bench, but I guess he only had 49 ML AB's to prove himself.

  15. Have you ever had a measured reaction to anything? They called up Pagan because they assume he will hit LHP because he is a switch hitter yet was horrible vs. lefties last season. Again I say, this organization is a complete joke. I'll take that as a no. Please, inform me and my un-measured reaction, why calling up Pagan is a good move? He hits LHP no better than Pie, and is fraction of the defensive player that Pie is. If Pagan hit LHP well than I could see it.

  18. Pagan eh? This organization gets dumber by the minute, I swear.

  20. I'm glad Pie will get the AB's needed in AAA, though he should be the teams every day CF. This organization is a complete and utter joke.
  21. Ideally this problem goes back to after the 2004 season with the departure of Sammy & Alou. The Cubs needed to replace this power in the OF. Carlos Beltran would have been perfect, yet Hendry wasn't given the $$$ support mainly because of Andy MacPhail who I still loath to this day. Hendry manifested this situation with a series of stop gap veterans such as Hollandsworth, Burntiz, and Jones. We have replaced this power finally with Soriano. There is no need for Jones.
  22. Shoulda just said that. ummm, no. I gave three reasons on my opinion.
