  1. That's it? Not bad. Agreed. If we only have to send 1 million, that's not bad at all. Of course, I wonder how good the PTBNL we'll send will be. More than likely some Single A pitcher that will go on to be an 3 time all star with the Marlins.
  2. That's it? Good. 1 Million? And the Marlins pay the rest of Jones contract right? Awesome.
  3. PRICELESS!  He is a good bit better than any CF they currently have on their roster. Jock Jones shouldn't be considered a CF, and I'm pretty sure they could find better OF production somewhere, anywhere, in their minor league system.
  4. They called the Barrett trade..but mainly it jsut pieces other info in 1 spot.
  5. I'm going to go ahead and assume for now this rumor is true. When I get home tonight and turn on the game I better not see him in the Cubs dugout.

  7. It's not yet on the Marlins official message board, or the espn version. Although I don't think many people use either. http://www.marlinbaseball.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=74836&st=0 I just can't believe anyone with the s/n of PierreMVP
  8. I like this move. I have no idea what Petrick can do at this level, but it is quite common for teams to hit lightning in a bottle with young bullben arms from the minors. Many of times, hitters just can get used to a certain guys stuff for a while. I'll take this move over paying an overrated garbage veteran any day of the week.
  9. If it is to Florida, I'm pretty sure the Cubs picked up close to 100% of his salary. This makes sense, as I stated before the only way Hendry would be able to dump Jones is to call up a GM that he has a good relationship with and ask for some help taking Jones. It is the least Beifest could do after taking Mitre, Pinto and Nolasco from us. We have helped the Marlins out so much it isn't even funny, I don't even think they are mad about the D. Lee deal considering they used Choi as future trade bait.
  10. His bread and butter used to be his low-90s heavy sinker, not sure what off speed stuff he's throwing these days. Did/Does he have a four seamer?
  11. What kind of "stuff" does he throw?
  12. Danica Petrick? Sweet! She is hot!
  13. .365/.447/.533 19/19 K/BB in 137 AB. His defense scares me almost as much as Izzy Cedeno showed really good range last year, but his issues were throwing to first. From what I saw in ST this year, he looked alot better with that throw to first.
  14. What is that? Josh Vitter's projected AVG, OBP, and SLG% in the Majors?
  15. STOP IT EVERYONE--I have been listening all afternoon and all they have said is that Jones told Rogers that he has not been traded and there is a reliever coming up and Theriot WILL NOT BE SENT TO THE MINORS. Man, you guys are quick to crucify Hendry. I know you are a good poster and a good guy but in theis case--California Raison--you are the liar! (which I am sure was just a misunderstanding of what was said!) WTF?
  16. Ripken aging, Arod moving, Garciaparra's injury all led to this. Now Tejada isn't the same player he was. Michael Young isn't having his usual season. A lot of top SS prospects have proven they can't handle the position on top of that. Players like Hardy and Betancourt (who I love watching), also Drew, Wood, Tulowitzki, Reyes, etc. I'm not too worried about the next generation of SS. While they prob, won't reach the production of Rodriguez, Nomar, Tejada and Jeter (I think Reyes will though), there will be enough quality out there to still recognize the offensive advantages of having a quality SS. True. Haven't seen much of Betancourt. Not sold on Drew, Hardy or Tulo yet. Tulo will probably be the best of the bunch, and I'm pretty close on saying he's legit. Hardy's had a great year, but he never projected to do what he has so far. Is he antoher Peralta? Drew, well....is a Drew. You know he has talent, but will he ever live up to his potential? Peralta has rebound nicely this year :?:
  17. Is it just me, or does it seem like the overall talent level for SS's has been dropping across baesball?
