  1. No it's not, but it's a problem that is allowed to fester. Do you want young guys on your team watching him as an example? I don't think so. It's the same thing with Prior, I wouldn't want my young pitchers seeing him complaining of discomfort every time the wind blows, set's a very bad example. If these players don't have the self pride to put forth the effort, it's up to the manager to instill it. If that doesn't work, you get rid of them, unless it is ok to have these types of players setting the tone.
  2. Some pitchers are more effective when they are not always around the plate. I think Z is a typical example of that. When you are a little bit wild with good stuff, it never gives the hitter a chance to dig in, and get a good read on what he is throwing.
  3. Does anybody else find it strange that just 2 weeks ago, Phil Rogers wrote the Cubs should hire Razor Shines as their manager? Why did Rogers do a 180? Did he have a discussion with someone in the front office that caused him to write the article? I think this is going to get interesting. Almost forgot, I like his suggestion - "get Prior healthy", that's a good one Phil, you must have sat up nights thinking up that one.
  4. That's the first thing I thought about when I read the article, are they prepping the fans for their stategy? Can't say it is impossible, but the more I thought, Rogers is actually stupid enouph to believe it.
  5. Phil must have overdosed on his Flintstone vitamins. This team needs two major things to happen - Hendry to do a much better job with his personal decisions, and to bring in a manager who can actually keep the players awake during the year. To me, Hendry is the one on the ropes here, because it is highly unlikely Baker is back. If Hendry screws up 100 million again, his ass will be out the door and it should be.
  6. It appears to me Pierre has been hitting a lot of line drives that would not have been effected by the grass. You knew at some point he would start to hit. A career .300 hitter will come around at some point.
  7. I get the feeling Dusty will be here the remainder of the year unless he refuses to play young guys to see what they have for 07.
