  1. can we keep the code markup (monospace) and also get one that when we paste in it the tabs and stuff are preserved, so someone can copy and paste a table from a site and it comes out looking fine when they post it in the markup.
  2. Yeah he's going to fly up draft boards if he's healthy. His ceiling rivals anyone's outside of Strasburg's among draftable college arms. Just staying healthy will go along way to cementing his status as a top ten pick.

It could be nothing, but he's their ace. Curious. Evan Danieli didn't throw for the Irish either. If you will recall Danieli is a 6'8" high school teammate of Rick Porcello out at Seton Hall Prep.

  9. Milton Bradley IS effectively replacing Edmonds. There is no debate. It's that simple.
  10. I know, and my weekend will be better than yours. On Friday afternoon I'm seeing Texas play Penn State, then I'm driving home. Saturday and Sunday will be spent at Enron Field, enjoying the premier regular season college baseball tournament.
  11. I believe UNC was the only top ten team to lose last night. They dropped to Coastal Carolina, iirc.
  12. Not that this is wrong, but the Cubs can't offer more money than either of the two teams and Oakland is neck and neck with Anaheim for the AL West. The Cubs are a better bet of course, but all three teams have a good shot at playing late into October.
  13. Chance Ruffin got lit up last night. He looked like trash again. His two seam slider combination has been pretty inconsistent thus far. With the wealth of young pitching Texas has, he might not keep his Friday job for long. We'll see how good (bad) he looks on Friday vs Penn State. 2011 Prospects IP H R ER BB SO AB BF ERA Cecil Tanner, UGA... 3.0 4 1 1 0 5 13 14 2.70 Austin Dicharry, UT. 6.0 2 0 0 1 5 20 21 0.00
  14. Alright, fine, you know more than PECOTA or ZiPS and you know their shortcomings, so you're in a position to say that they're wrong and you're right. And don't twist the PMs argument. Don't forget to mention you're the one PMing me, and that's my response to you when you criticize me through PMs out of the blue because you dont like me. I'm not the one instigating that.
  15. hey little kid, dont put words in my mouth. Let's get your damn facts right. 1. I did not say that Javier Vazquez was an "elite" pitcher or a "stud" pitcher. 2. I mentioned that Chris Young was traded for him, and he's a very good pitcher. These are facts. 3. I said that Haren and Vazquez are comparable. 4. It's not cherry-picking PECOTA. ZiPS and Marcel have Vazquez with a better projected ERA. What's pretty hysterical is that you spend multiple posts (and pms) bitching and complaining about me saying that Javier Vazquez is an elite, stud pitcher. And then you have the stones to admit "you still didn't answer the question that would potentially end this argument though. is javier vazquez an elite pitcher?" What have I argued? I simply noted that Chris Young was the centerpiece of a trade for Javier Vazquez* when someone asked what kind of stud pitcher that Chris Young could be traded for. *a very good pitcher whose resume is more impressive than Dan Haren's.
  16. Laugh it up, fuzzball. 198.0 IP, 188:57 K:BB, 28.75 Stuff, 3.58 ERA - Javier Vazquez, PECOTA 210.3 IP, 189:45 K:BB, 28.55 Stuff, 3.53 ERA - Dan Haren, PECOTA Haren's better, but similar is usable.
  17. Dan Haren and Javier Vazquez are similar.

  19. hes going to end up with a career warp between 90-100 or pretty close.... hes had three seasons with a warp over 8, thats one fewer than zambrano and two more than josh beckett and the same amount as andy pettitte. not that warp means a lot, but it illustrates a point
  20. Yeah, it's not like Young was good enough to be the centerpiece in a trade that netted a four time 200 K guy.
  21. This isn't really the correct way to think about anything. Miles shouldn't be in the lineup over Fontenot, but Miles and Fukudome are completely unrelated. They don't affect each other.
