  1. i don't know if i'd want to read that blurb next to my guy's name when i log onto rk. Someone who is looking for a SP may be interested.. I've made the offer and am not sure as to if it'll even be accepted.
  2. It's not certain that he's going to require any surgery. The dude put up 560 points this year. Why should they be asked to leave? It'd only be like a 3rd round pick and a potentially a prospect. A 3rd round pick is a much better gamble than someone who may not pitch at all in 2009. Who can afford to have 560 points towards the cap (more than 1/4 of the cap) sitting on the DL all year? If he's such a great risk, why are you trading him? I don't have room for him under the points cap or I would keep him and DL him all year next year if necessary.

  4. I'm about to hopefully trade him for another draft pick, so who cares! :)
  5. Keepers now looking like this for me: Hanley- Exempt Markakis- Exempt Braun- Exempt Volstad- Exempt Floyd- Exempt Garza- Exempt Rowland-Smith- Exempt Halladay- 762.5 Granderson- 494.2 Morneau- 569.8 Players Available- Will also package minor leaguers to get another draft pick or exempt keeper. Cano- 368.8 Sheets- 558
  6. Big trade in the works... :) I want to win this damn thing next year!
  7. Right now... looking like this: Potential Keepers: Morneau- 569.8 Howard- 586.2 Hanley- Exempt Markakis- Exempt Braun- Exempt Granderson- 494.2 Garza- Exempt Floyd- Exempt Rowland-Smith- Exempt Kazmir- 379 Sheets- 558 Halladay- 762.5 Cano- 368.8 Volstad- Exempt This really sucks. I need to get rid of some major first round talent in order to get under the cap. Looking for mainly ace pitchers or first round picks that are exempt. Make me some offers people! :) Anyway... I'm going to have Halladay available (762 points), Howard or Morneau (Howard is at 586.2), and probably one of Sheets or Kazmir. I'm willing to make any deals for potential first round picks. I'd probably do a package deal of Floyd/Rowland-Smith/Garza and Howard/Morneau for a first round pick and a stud keeper that is exempt. Someone like Wieters, Kershaw, LaPorta would do the job. I may even make it a 2nd round pick for that kind of deal.
  8. Just throwing some names out there without looking and doing a complete analysis... I would be willing to trade any of these guys.. Howard Morneau Sheets Kazmir Cano Dye Halladay Garza (exempt) Floyd (exempt) Rowland-Smith (exempt) Molina Papelbon Krod I plan on getting rid of a huge player or 2 to get a long term ml ready keeper that can help me fit under the cap. I'm guessing one of Howard/Morneau will be available as will one of Sheets/Kazmir...
  9. Great game Navin.... my 2nd time finishing 2nd...
  10. Down 80 to start the week but as of now have cut that to around 49-50 and I have a 1 start adv. the rest of the way. Gotta hope my bats way out perform Navins, that Papelbon and Krod actually pitch more games this week, and that I get some help from that one start advantage. Gonna be tough to do!
  11. Just wait... I should have plenty of players to add to the talks after next week.
  12. I predict that the finals will come down to whomever has the fewest number of players sitting over the last 2 weeks of the season. Good luck Navin.
  13. I believe it's 7 starts per week, just like regular rules, giving you 14 over 2 weeks. I'm honestly hoping your aces only get 2 each over the 2 week period.
  14. GG Raw. I beat you when it counted, but I have to thank your pitching. If they'd have had a good week, you'd have scored 400 with the way your bats went. Finals should be Alamo vs Tootie. Looks like over 2 weeks, Lincecum and Lester may only get 2 starts each. Halladay will probably get only 2 as well. It sucks he got moved up to today. I'll have Sheets, Floyd, Garza, Kazmir, and Volstad each looking to give me 3 starts over the 2 weeks. Gives me some good choices, which I think gives me the advantage. I can honestly say I like my bats better too, but you never know how it'll turn out. Maholm, Meche, Sabathia, and Pettitte look to be potential 3 start guys. Good luck Rasin.
  15. I don't see why not...
  16. Well.. heading into the last day, Raw has the start advantage at 1-0, but I have a 48 point lead. I'd feel safe if I could get 25-30 pts out of my bats and assuming Raw doesn't throw a CG/SO or a no no.
  17. Overall my offense has been pretty damn good lately, and I think I'm due for a bad week. I am not very confident about this week, that's for sure.
  18. Good game to you as well Adam...
  19. I did throw your team under the bus, but with the match ups Raw's pitchers have this week, it's simply my prediction and nothing more. But, I'd trade my match ups this week for Raw's any day of the week. Derek Lowe at Petco Matt Cain at Petco Ollie Perez at home vs. the Nats and Braves Adam Wainwright at Pittsburgh (possibly without Nate McLouth) Cole Hamels at home vs. Milwaukee and his choice of which one will be better between Lilly at St. Louis and Ervin Santana at home vs. the Yanks. Yep.. I agree.. Plus my team faces @NYY, @Phi, @CHW, @Bos and @ANA.... and I'll be throwing both Volstad and Rowland-Smith, neither of whom I'm completely comfortable with. That being said, I'm not expecting to win. Good luck DJ. I hope your pitching decides to fail you in a couple of those easy matchups you have! :) Too bad I can't get 2 starts from either Sheets, Garza, Kazmir, or Halladay this week....
  20. My pitching matchups suck, but I still have to say it's a tossup, as Raw doesn't have 2 starts from his aces either this week.
  21. Good luck next week DJ. Looks like we're both on makeshift staffs next week.
  22. Yesterday's scores are gone for some reason.. Dunno why?
  23. Isn't it a pretty safe bet that just about every pitcher will have 2 starts in the finals, and some might even get three starts? Guess I didn't look back in the thread to see that it is 2 weeks.. Either way, I like getting 3 starts each over 2 weeks out of Roy and Kazmir! Is there a 3rd place game? That's what I'll be looking for, especially since I don't get 2 starts next week from any of my aces.
