  1. T-storms are about to roll through northern Cook and southern Lake, but they should miss Wrigley.
  2. Looked like Ramirez stumbled a bit and over-played the ball.
  3. Please watch the language, everyone. Same rules apply. And Bill Miller's strike zone is a joke tonight.
  4. Well, you figure that Hill cost himself two runs in that inning. If he scores on the basehit, Hairston goes to third and he scores on the sac fly.
  5. And he misses a grand slam by four feet...
  6. And Hill just cost himself a run for the 2nd time...
  7. Miller has an uncanny ability to turn a walk into a strikeout. MIKEY!!!!!!!!
  8. His throwing shoulder is still a bit banged up. Hopefully it's getting better.
  9. Yeah, Boise. That was just a few weeks ago. Now that's a triple play.
  10. Oh, I'm loving Miller's strike zone so far... :x
  11. A couple of real cheapies there.
  12. Nice K. Missed badly with that first 0-2 fastball, though.
  13. Those are his shins, blue, not his knees.
  14. Hill didn't have a curve called for a strike that inning. He did have at least one foul, however.
  15. All 3 outs came with the fastball, I believe.
  16. Both. Mostly up and away. And yeah, Hill is way over to the side of the rubber.
  17. The speculation on WGN Radio was that he wouldn't spend that much time on the DL if he can start his rehab stint soon. As someone who has never come out of the bullpen as a professional, I can't see how he could spend any less than 10 days in the minors (unless they won't use him in back-to-back days at all).
  18. Please see this thread: Premium Non-premium
  19. I thought they were putting him in the pen. I'm pretty sure I heard start. That doesn't necessarily mean he won't come out of the 'pen with the Cubs, though. It sounded like he'd only make one appearance with an affiliate.
  20. According to Kerry, he has thrown each of the last three days and has felt better each time. He'll take a day off and then throw again. If there's no pain, he'll head to the minors for a rehab start.
  21. Also, everyone should vote in their poll. It asks "Hot enough for you?" "@#&%^$!" currently leads with 61.7%. "Yes. Make it stop!" is in second with 18.7% followed by "No. Bring it on!" with 12.1%. And yes, I realize that only adds up to 92.5%. I voted "No. Bring it on!" because I don't live in Iowa and feel Iowans should suffer. :D Yeah, you'd never ask people to feel sorry for you because of the heat and humidity.
  22. Not sure if everyone saw it, but the Cubs/Mets game on August 7th was picked up by ESPN. That means the folks who don't mute their TVs will get three doses of Morgan in just 21 games. And depending on Fox's decision, that could equal the number of times you have to put up with McCarver. I guess the moral of this is to enjoy this weekend.
  23. Something about them not getting days off until they're hospitalized for heat stroke. It's cooler today in Chicago than was expected. The heat index won't even be in the 90s come gametime.
