  1. Well, he's all of two months older than me and two inches shorter. 19 strikeouts to 11 walks in 29.1 IP isn't all that impressive, but he has yet to give up a HR.
  2. Iowa: LHP Jon Koronka (7-8, 4.45) vs. Ryan Snare (0-0, 0.00) West Tenn.: LHP Renyel Pinto (6-2, 2.14) vs. ??? Daytona: Randy Wells (5-2, 3.51) vs. Justin Jones (4-1, 3.09) Peoria: RH Mike Billek (1-0, 1.80) vs. RH Mike Ekstrom (12-3, 3.45) Boise: LHP Jesus Yepez (2-0, 2.76) vs. ??? Mesa: ??? (I'll guess RHP Jose Pina (2-1, 3.41)) vs. ??? I'm not very good at this.
  3. "I didn't even know what Nurfside Baseball was." And some people think The Simpsons serves no purpose in our society...
  4. No more use of the you command, please.
  5. All boxes posted. Good game for Corey. Surprised to see him lay down a sac bunt, but he got the second hit in the 9th inning comeback (single and went to 2nd on the throw). The fact that the opposing relief pitcher's name was Baker is a coincidence. And quite the performances from Gallagher and Searles.
  6. It'll be 90, sunny, and the wind will be blowing out at 5-10 mph. And despite being in attendance, I hope Lee gets the day off...finally. If they don't win this game, the homestand goes from bad to painful.
  7. Welcome! Are you still on campus?
  8. When you're hitting .206 in a month and your team is down by a run in the 9th, you need to take what the pitcher gives you. It was a slow pitch that missed the zone by about two inches and both the batter and the umpire had a clear look at it. Dowdy was just terribly inconsistent (and terrible) behind the plate for both teams today.
  9. Well, the Cubs have just pissed away another homestand. They need to win tomorrow for it not to be a terrible one. And for the love of all that is good, Dusty, please sit Lee. His BA has dropped over 20 points in the past week.
  10. Strike 3 was too close to take, though. I don't know. It was clearly a ball and Hollandsworth saw it all the way. If it buckled him, then you have to hack at it. But it wasn't that close.
  11. You've been great all day, Dowdy. My goodness...
  12. Macias. But even then, that leaves just Cedeno and Blanco. Doesn't matter now.
  13. Nice job by Rusch. Just for that, you get a walk credited to your name that shouldn't have been. And now that the Cubs are on their 3rd left fielder, can you pinch run for Ramirez if he gets in scoring position?
  14. And nothing like bringing in a new pitcher to IBB someone.
  15. And a 3-2 hanger. Nothing 6 consecutive poorly played games.
  16. Okay, we've already established that Glaus can hit belt-high fastballs right down the middle.
  17. Since I'll be at the game and it's the day before an off-day, I'm sure he'll sit tomorrow.
  18. Ooh, bat in the press box. Go after Sullivan. Unless he's already commanding the bat.
  19. And on that whiff, Lee's BA falls below .360.
  20. That's not appropriate on the board.
  21. Didn't look like Murton saw any of those... Three runners in scoring position that inning and they can't score.
  22. The wind has really helped stifle our homer-happy offense during this homestand. One of many factors, unfortunately.
  23. Another one the wind takes away. Come on, Barrett.
