  2. Not a great line for Guzman: 5 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 2 K, 3-10 GO-FO, 84-53
  3. Ugh. A third double of the inning and a sac fly make it 6-4.
  4. Guzman gives up back-to-back doubles and then a single to leadoff the 5th. He's not as sharp tonight and for the second start in a row, his Ks are down (just 1 so far).
  5. Yup, it was a walk-off with one out in the inning and first base open. I wonder if they would have walked him if there was a second out.
  6. Harvey in July (I think...it could be messed up because of the continued game a few days ago): .322/.337/.689. 28 Ks to 2 BBs, though...
  7. Guzman gives up a run on 3 singles and 25 pitches in the 2nd.
  8. Wow. Not a bad night for Harvey! Angel with a 10-pitch 1-2-3 1st. Pie with a 3-2 walk in the 2nd.

    Woo. Three-year contract for Philmore.
  10. How many times is Brenley going to mention Barrett making an out that didn't contribute to the Cubs' big inning?
  11. Maybe I'm dumb (OK, I am dumb!) but how do you build a temporary stadium???? I mean, is it inflatable, or made out of balsa wood or what???? I'm not entirely sure, but it would be taken down after the paralympics and apparently reused.
  12. Once they start construction on the nearly $30+ million triangular building/underground batting cages, they certainly won't be looking to move. But yeah, the 80,000 track and field stadium would only be temporary (and south of Soldier Field, I believe).
  13. Wow. Has the Travel Channel weighed in yet? Probably not, but Pierre was interviewed and did say that the wind affects his hitting...
  14. The Weather Channel was not only ripping on the Cubs, but also said that they probably can't use the weather as an excuse for this season.
  15. I'm surprised Hill didn't give up more tonight. His fastball was fading a bit since that's about all he was able to throw and he basically had to ditch his curve.
  16. You could say that again. For July: .227/.237/.440
  17. Cause that's his only good pitch. Have you been watching today? Nope, but I don't need to watch tonight's game to know that Hill has a really good curveball and nothing else. Tonight it's all fastball. His curve isn't doing anything.
  18. Didn't see the first, but it looks like Hill doesn't have a curveball tonight.

    Any timeline for Tank?
  20. Notes from the Wilken interview: -Samardzija- loves his athleticism and competetiveness, upside -Malone- Saw him last year in Cape Cod and did quite well, struggled at FSU but saw he was available at the end of the draft and took him, possible utlity guy at second and third -Mentioned Papelbon -Colvin- standing by the pick 100% -Lansford- good fielder, chance to be above average hitter down the road -Back in the day, might have taken two weeks to get a list of guys who have been drafted in an area -Says the vineline is a good place to follow the minors, milb.com, different "blogs"
  21. Why Greenberg so low? He may not have played as many years as most of the other guys, but he has a 158 career OPS+.
