  1. 4.5 hours until gametime. This is going to be a real tough one. Neveda is an experienced team with a very good QB and a quirky offensive scheme. Even if by chance Battle has a good game, it's pretty unlikely that the safeties are going to do well. Heinz is STILL out and they're really inexperienced back there. And then of course there's the offense. Maybe Sutton will actually get 20 carries this time. McGee needs to open up the offense and just hope that Kafka does okay. Another conservative gameplan just isn't going to work. A loss will pretty much kill Northwestern's bowl chances. A win will give them a lot of confidence going into the Big Ten opener against Penn State.
  2. http://www.smokiesbaseball.com/images/news/Cubsand%20hats.jpg Slightly different colors.
  3. Hillenmeyer expects to play on Sunday. Idonije and Worrell are the only two Bears remaining on the injury report. They did not practice yesterday and are listed as questionable. Tommie Harris was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
  4. How much will you be posting in Singapore though? He made 14 posts from Singapore. That's probably more than I've made in the past 2.5 days. Too bad he didn't get that layover in Bangkok like he wanted, though.
  5. If Michigan State's offense plays a full four quarters, they'll win a high-scoring afair. I don't think they can afford another slow start, though.
  6. According to Lozinak, the Cubs really wanted an affiliate that would allow them to have their players play in front of a lot of fans and media. The Jaxx really didn't offer either.
  7. Despite the limited run game, I'm especially pleased that the offensive attack has been so diverse. The play fakes have been quite successful both over the middle and deep, Rex has shown an ability to throw to the sidelines, and he has targets all over the place, allowing the Bears to create mismatches (see the Clark TD). With Mushin, Berrian, Clark and Gilmore, Davis, Gage and Bradley eventually, and McKie, if the defense wants to focus on one or two aspects of the passing game, the others can be quite dangerous. The passing attack has been working at all levels and the line has been giving him the protection he needs. And that should start opening up the run game pretty soon.
  8. EXCELLENT move. Should be interesting to see how that works out this weekend, though. It still seems like Mike Brown isn't fully up to speed.
  9. Manning takes over for Harris:
  10. From 2003-2005 (weighted): Runs - 1.02 Hits - .96 Doubles - .84 HR - 1.20 BB - .89 K - .88
  11. That would be 2 PM tomorrow for those keeping track. And one more time, thanks for everything, Ron. It's been a pleasure. Good luck wherever your career takes you.
  12. Stupid Favre. Bush got me 200 points, though. And I did shoot up to 960 out of 6707. Sadly, I'm 6th in the group :(
  13. I don't think I've ever seen that happen before.
  14. The officials for the Oregon/Oklahoma game have been suspended for one week: I'm not sure if the refs necessarily did anything wrong, but the replay officials should have been fired.
  15. Erasmus James is out for the year with a torn ACL for Minnesota.
  16. I'd also like to say that all of these injuries blow. There are still quite a few guys who haven't played a snap yet this year who aren't getting that much better or have new injuries.
  17. Next week's NU @ PSU game has been scheduled for 2:30 central on ABC (regional). Revenge would be great, although at this point I might settle for a respectable loss.
  18. Practically the first time on national TV for Northwestern and it will be in primetime on Friday night. It certainly won't be an easy game. The offensive line needs to remember that they were supposed to be good. Definitely a must-win for the 'Cats.
  19. Everybody else was out due to injury.
  20. Fire with a 1-0 win and 3 huge points! DC United with two red cards in the second half.
  21. Highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rt70NfjhxM
  22. I've got the Spanish radio station on (1200 AM in Chicago). I don't speak Spanish. Better than nothing, though. Atrocious officiating in the first half. Woo, the picture is back. For now. We'll see how long they can keep playing. And as I say that, they clear the field.
  23. A fumble is a nice way to end it! Bears win and just in time for the Fire game (ESPN2), too! I can't wait until I get to head down to Soldier Field on October 8th.
  24. The refs sure missed that false start. Nice deflection by Danieal Manning. SACK
  25. Grossman's day is done. Bravo! What's the point of this Nike commercial? Is it to show us that if a bunch of NFL stars play on a HS team while wearing Nike, they'll need a trick play to beat a bunch of kids?
