  1. Gabe Reid will play, but Chris Harris (ankle), Runnels, Idonije, Gage, and Currie are all inactive.
  2. Did that game eliminate LA from the playoffs? Almost. I believe they're 6 points out right now with just 3 games left.
  3. I didn't think anyone could look worse than Morelli down the stretch, but Stanton repeatedly threw the ball into triple coverage while being tackled in the 4th quarter. of COURSE those are getting picked. Tip of the cap to ND. They never gave up Nothing beats that fumble. Not only did he fail to consider sliding, but he carried it the entire time with just one arm around the ball.
  4. Stanton can blame himself for this loss. Some really, really, really stupid decisions.
  5. Michigan State thinks this is last year's matchup and just stopped trying.
  6. I could think of smarter things to do as a QB with a 10 point lead in the rain late in the 4th quarter than running the ball with just one arm around it and not sliding.
  7. Because Bob Davie says so If Samardzija had been able to go back for it more and created more contact, it would have been called. The ball was underthrown and probably because of the conditions, he wasn't able to do that.
  8. The Fire get another 3 points and a spot in the playoffs with a 2-1 win over LA Galaxy. The two teams will meet again back in Bridgeview Wednesday night for the Dewar Cup.
  9. There better be a good reason for those patches.
  10. Umm, that might've been the greatest special teams distraction of all time. Or at least the most interesting.
  11. Well, the Colorado offense gave Georgia great field position for back to back drives.
  12. I expected to see more than 48 points in this game. Colorado fumbled at midfield, giving Georgia great field position.
  13. How so? You have to refresh my memory. Well, for one, there would be enough time to fit in at least 10 more plays. But when you get down to 7 or 6 minutes left, the clock will just fly by. Running the clock after a change of possession is going to eliminate many 4th quarter comebacks.
  14. Purdue somehow limits Minnesota to 21 points. They're going to win 27-21.
  15. This Purde/Minnesota game could be a lot different with the old clock rules.
  16. I personally don't give a hoot about who picks who to win. The media is full of morons, anyways, so morons who think highly of the Bears doesn't mean much to me. The only thing I want the media to do is actually show some game highlights from time to time, but I could care less if they ignore the Bears the rest of the year. All I care about is that we finally have an offense capable of big plays and scoring drives (not to mention a good special teams) to go along with a very good defense. That means this season is going to be fun. Since there are 22 hours and 40 minutes until kickoff to kill, this can kill two of those minutes.
  17. How so? Northwestern is out-recruiting nearly half of the Big Ten so far this season and still play in the same conference with Illinois and Indiana. Not to mention that they're playing with a 1st year head coach, 1st year offensive coordinator, a linebacker coach new to the team, and young WR, OL, and RB coaches new to their positions. The only QB with any exerpience on the team is recovering from a broken leg. We also have at least 8 players starting this year with one or no years of experience (including a center who hasn't played in over a year) and several others seeing playing time out of necessity quite often on the 3-3-5 defense. Hopefully they'll get better and healthy. Bacher, Heinz, Thompson, Matthews, and others still have yet to get healthy. This may be a long season, but the program is in better shape than those of at least several other Big Ten schools. And right now their biggest problem is that they're shooting themselves in the foot. If they can't put a few games together where they play smart football, they have the talent to win two or three Big Ten games.
  18. And there goes Northwestern's season. Now it's time to hope for two or three Big Ten wins and improvements that are going to pay off next season. Right now, this team just stinks, from the offensive line to special teams (okay, they have a special teams unit that would embarrass a high school coach). At least they have a top 40 recruiting class going right now (12 3-star commits out of 14).
  19. It really is amazing that football teams still haven't figured out that you need to snap the ball really quickly after an iffy turnover. You know, not take your sweet time.
  20. Well this team flatout sucks.
  21. I think Bacher's leg needs to heal faster...
  22. Well this one is going to hell.
  23. It's so nice of the broadcasting crew to not blame the offensive line and playcalling on the running game's problems. What the heck was that, Kafka....
  24. I do admire your optimism, still hoping for a bowl appearance after getting beaten soundly by a 1-AA team. I wish you guys the best of luck - except for next week :P The team needs to (continue to?) improve, but if they can win tonight and enter the Big Ten season with 3 non-con wins, they have a chance, especially with Purdue, Michigan State, and Illinois at home. Of course, 6 gets the bowl eligible, not necessarily into a bowl. Reno with some costly penalties so far.
  25. That wasn't the prettiest TD drive you'll see...but it still counts! Nice to see Lane earning that starting spot.
