Pierre (32) should send Eckstein (30) a gift basket, because without him, Pierre would be dead last in the majors in walks among leadoff hitters with at least 500 PAs in the #1 spot. Of course, he's last among CFs and last among all leadoff hitters in BB/PA with at least 250 PAs in the #1 spot. He'll also lead the league in ABs and will have the second highest AB total of any player this century.

Washington State is still alive, but they need 6. The snap nearly gets by the punter. USC dodged a big bullet there, just like they did on the kickoff fumble.

USC very nearly gave WSU the ball inside the 20, but they just couldn't revoer it despite a great shot at it.

The officials really needed all that time to review that one... At least I can laugh about the celebration penalty being tacked on.

I think the one positive to come out of this game is that even though the NU defense was on pace to give up 700 yards early, they probably will only give up around 500.

They don't throw the ball at all and still manage to get Sutton only 5 carries. This team is so bad right now.

I won't be happy if Brewer finishes this game. These games need to be used to make progress in the QB situation. and Brewer doesn't have a future at QB.

Cole (or McManis if you're the announcers) trying to make Battle feel better, apparently. Hahaha. They don't even know what down it is. For their sake, I really hope they're drunk and didn't spend any time preparing for this game.

Nice job by the refs to completely ignore the fact that the game clocked stopped after 3rd down. Of course, the announcers never noticed it, either. Obviously have to go for it.

Not really, even if you give Northwestern the short field, they can't do anything with it. You're costing your offense up to 30 yards in field position for no reason. Just kick it off, send your defense out for 3 plays, and field another horrible punt. And if you're going to do it, at least don't decide to kick it to someone who can handle the ball. And that would be another reason why you don't do it.

I don't mind that they're not talking about Northwestern at all, but to completely butcher the names when you do is quite unnecessary. JoePa got stupid on that one.

Dropped red zone interception #2 leading to another FG. Bacher, please. Might as well get him some reps whether he's ready or not (and he's not). Of course, with this offensive line, that would be a risky move.

I think they've actually managed to show more commercials than plays. ABC will stretch this game out to 4 hours. Holy crap. I didn't think Battle was THIS bad.

It's amazing how bad Stanton and the Spartans can be. Brewer is starting, so that likely means 3 things: 1) Kafka won't be available at all, 2) Bacher will probably see some time in the 2nd half, and 3) Sutton won't even get 15 carries. At least Brewer should have some nice runs. The special teams unit will probably be the most detrimental. They'll give Penn State great field position all day.
